The effect of chilling baked goods

Hello,

I like to make cookies and I use sesame oil instead of butter because it is better in health terms and it works well.

I have noticed that when I chill the cookies in the freezer for a couple days after cooking, they work much better in the potency department. They always work, but are better with a chill.

My question to those in the know- does the chilling effect have some mechanism that potentiates the potency or am I imagining that...:tiphat:?

Thanks!

Interesting...

First time I've ever seen anyone say chilling edibles made them more potent, but I wouldn't think so? I've frozen brownies before stored for a month or so and it didn't effect potency at all.

I already made brownies with cannabudder. What kind of cookies should I make that can hide the CANNA taste? Anybody ever make budder using olive oil instead of butter?

It won't help you this time, but if you're looking for tasteless edibles, you could always do a watercure on the bud before you make cannabudder.

Thank you GMG. Was kinda hoping to make a salad dressing with the olive oil. I will start reading some more,I had no idea how many recipes were actually here. This is great! MW

About the cannabutter, i have read that cooking the butter and letting it cool again helps with the taste.

Guessing that somehow, for you, you digest the cookies better after freezing, can not agree with personal experience, but digestion is key.

you can remove a lot of particulate matter from the cannabutter by separating it, reboiling the butter with fresh water and cool it an separate it from the water, then repeat the process.
by the 3rd-4th time, the butter should be free of matter and more palatable.

A seven day water cure WILL help with the taste, but your best bet is canna oil.
Use a crock pot or similar and leave it with buds/water/oil to simmer. Strain it, freeze it and remove the water.
The oil can be used to make packet mix products.

Use extracts if you are concerned about taste. As for a freezer affecting the baked goods i'de say it could be a possible placebo effect. I do have one idea that comes to mind though, perhaps if your eating them directly out of the freezer, they would be hard and take your body more time to digest increasing the effects, just a thought tho.
