Actually he ate the leftovers from butter making. Saturday night I whipped up a batch of butter, using a workshoe box packed full of trim,a big pile of roaches, and about a quarter of premature hermie bud. Sunday morning while cleaning up I took the remnants,a large pile of boiled leaf, about the size of a large grapefruit, and tossed it on ,the mulch pile. You guessed it,still had enough buttery goodness to interest the dog,who apparently ate the whole thing. I thought he was acting a little strange all day,but it wasn't until our nightly walk of 2 miles that I knew something was seriously amiss. As long as his head was up and we walked at a brisk pace he was ok,but as soon as he put his head down to sniff he would start weaving and stumbling. I was a little concerned, then said to myself," This dog acts like he's drunk". Sure enough when we got back home, the evidence was gone. It's funny now but I was quite worried last night,he literally couldn't stand up,or stay in one place upright and retain his balance. Even turning his head while sitting down was enough to cause him to fall over. He could barely climb the stairs to go to bed. Thankfully this morning he seems normal,a normally stupid mutt.
