a friend of mine gave me a piece of equipment.. said lasttime he used it . worked fine.. but it was a year ago.. he upgraded to a way bigger setup..

so I got this The CAP XBF-2 Xtreme Ballast Flip
from him.. plugged it in.. and nothing..

the light on the part were it says ballast POWER doesn't light up. all the others lightup..

does anyone have this. if so can u post the directions he didn't have them.. figured id try to use this because he is positive it worked when he put it away

yeah, i'm not familiar with that particular manufacturer but what that is is a flip box and it's made to control a pair of lights.

basically what it does is you hook up a pair of light bulb socketsets to that box and then you plug that box into the ballast where a single bulb socketset would normally go, then there should be a thinner duty plug coming off that box and this is called the 'trigger' cord and it gets plugged into a timer.

...so once everything is hooked up what it does is it shifts power from one socketset to the other according to the timer and in my case that means every 12 hours my flipbox turns one light bulb off while at the same time it turns the other one on, hence the term 'flip' as it just flips the power from one bulb to the other, ...the single ballast runs 24/7

...anyway, here's a link to an online growshop that sells that model so you can begin your search for some info on how to operate your new toy, assuming of course you have a need for it, lol, i know i love mine. (mine is a PowerBox Flipbox)

That item is a piece of junk, possibly it could be fixed, if you want it fixed, send an email to [email protected], they fix anything. They make a better product, but it uses a digital timer instead of the mechanical pull-pin timer.

my bad.. he gave me his broken one that he dropped.. got the other one.. thing works fine..

and of course these items are junk.. but.. when its cheap or free. I cant complain.. especially when its helping me harvest more so that I can upgrade to better controllers and shit .
