hi guys . just heard a fascinating story. was talking to a guy who said he heard of a guy (yeah i know third hand info) who vegged a plant for 4 years before turning it to bud. he used chicken wire to screen it until it filled a big room. he then turned it using 4k light and it produced over 15k of bud. could there be any truth in this tale. anyone got pics of such a monster? is this possible? :fsu:

I flowered a mother after taking clones off her for 3 years.nothing special and i didn't let her grow huge. Just a weird stem looked like a a tree trunk. I still have clones off her so they are 5 years old..I bloom them all the time.

Was it a Magic Bean ? Did he climb the stock up into the clouds & fight a Green Giant for more beans ? Sounds like a fairy tale.....

4k of lighting to produce 15k of bud. Thats 3.75g p/w. The numbers seem a little off dont you think? Not to mention a plant holding 15k of bud and not rotting or in some way trying to top itself.......

well it does seem rediculous but regardless of third hand dodgy figures which i hadnt really thought of mathematicaly, can anyone disprove the concept ? would it rot ? does nyone really know.? i think it possible. ps . i know there is no goose in the world that can lay a golden egg but battery chickens lay 2 a day from being tricked by artificial light! the story is a tale as i dont even know its source so any part of it (or all of it ) could be true or untrue.some practical eveidence would be more interesting than 1000000 theories! octodiem thanks 4 response did ur mother rot. where the clones strange in ny way? trouble n dogboy thanks 4 ur response. ho ho ho!

Well, it's not so much evidence as experience but the most i ever saw pulled off a plant designed to see what max yield was came to around 1.2 kilo. It was a monster of a plant about 1.5m sq and was grown by someone with expert skill. I am happy to say that anything much past that is going into the realms of exaggeration. I'd be interested to see if anyone else can back this up with some pics of a similar plant. There were none kept or taken on that grow.

The other thing to remember is that cannabis is an annual and whenever i have taken a plant to over a year i have found it starts running into all kinds of problems which affect yield.

The reality is theres many more monster stories then there are monsters themselves regardless what form they take. Plants, fish, or dogs.

Over on cannabis culture a few years back there was a guy by the name of Guano Tea who vegged a northern lights for a year in a 20 foot tall greenhouse, supplementing with 16 1000 watt lights. reported yeilds of 25 to 30 pounds. There was a huge thread cause a bunch of haters were all doubting him and then he came through with pics. He had several pics from some of his buddies doing the same setup and yeilding 20lb monsters. I just searched for the thread on there but i couldnt find it. Perhaps someone else will remember what i am referring to. The pictures were truly impressive. I only wish i had saved them.

I saw tons of large, wild plants growing while trekking through Nepal. At one point, my buddy and I just kept smelling this overpowering ganj odor, but didn't see any plants. And it smelled like it was coming from quite the patch.

The path we were on had kind of come up to a ledge before continuing down. I'm standing near the edge, when I look straight ahead and see a branch of nug the size of a small child, illuminated from behind by the sun.

This Ledge I was on was 17-20 FEET off of the ground, where the trunk (quite literally) of the plant was. This thing extended at least 10 feet above my own head, and I was prolly 5'10" at the time.

My buddy and I just started jumping up and down, like HOLY SHIT!!!! We climbed down the path, and when we got to this behemoth, we couldn't touch eachother's hands when we tried to put our arms around it. The trunk was a mass of roots extending up into the main stalk, at about chest height. Oh, and these roots? thicker than the MERISTEM of the largest plant most of you have ever seen. The branches didn't start until around my head.

I plan on putting up a ton of pictures sometime this winter. I want to be able to do it in one fell swoop, and do it properly- where security is concerned. I have a picture of this beast, and I will post her up when I do the rest. It is INSANE!!!!

I can only assume that this thing had just been growing/flowering/repeat for ages, but was budded out, and gigantic! Has anyone else ever seen anything like this before? On my mother's eyes this is the truth.....

Stay Safe,

Tom Hill had some pics up on OG of a 24 plant grow outdoors, using Salmon Creek Big Bud.Total yield was 100 lbs. and I think the largest was about 7 lbs. Krusty used to have 3 lb. plants with his buckets. My largest indoor plant was 19 oz. with 10 week veg. It was an Afghan Bullrider.

If this guy used 4k of light and vegged for 4 years to get 15 lbs. of bud, he was stupid. With a veg room to provide clones, he could have had 24 crops of 4 lbs. during that time and without the veg room, but just with one mom, he could have had 12 crops bringing 48 lbs.

there was actually something about a bust in nevada i believe earlier this year (maybe in the spring?) about a couple growers who had one plant that basically filled the entire basement but all the feds could do was count it as one plant. The details are a bit rough there, i know, but it was in the news (which doens't make it true, but at least a little closer to verifiable. THe thing is, if someone really wants to grow a beast of a plant, it's very possible. It just takes a lot of time, effort, time, space, time, skill, time, no mistakes, time, good genetics, time, no flukes or random acts of God.....and did I mention time?

I wouldn't discredit it, not saying this guy was honest about it, but i don't think its even close to impossible.

it produced over 15k of bud.

15,000 grams would be over 535 oz. / 33lbs.?

I cant see it a 33lb. plant indoor or outdoors.

Then again I havent seen everything......

i think he means 15k $$$$$ not 15,000 grams dude... which would be easy under 4k.

not so easy with 1 plant, but i could prolly put together a couple different methods to do that under 4k.

more likely he meant $15k worth........so lets just say $3k/lb=5lbs I don't see that as too unrealistic for 4-1k lights, in fact, i'd say he shoulda yielded a bit more

I would not apologize for anything, this thread has been entertaining with only 2 pages cannot wait till everyone chimes in here.

Personally a 20 lb plant sounds like a dream come true
