The Anti American War Movie Movement

I see this as a desperate attempt to raise support for a flagging war which is vital to the US economy but does not have the support of the people.
How is the "war on terror" and its resultant quagmires in any way beneficial to the US economy, let alone "vital".

An attempt to raise support for the war?We have to be talking about two different movies. Its an attempt at portraying the average US serviceman/woman as brutal and heartless and it'll never work.

Sorry, the best anti war movie is 'Johnny Got His Gun'. This is the movie that was the inspiration for the song 'One' by Metallica.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j39ABZyzek

that is not only the group that got me into giving heavy metal a chance, but the very same song that did it!!! now i gotta see that movie, since i remember the movie clips from the video.

***as far as the movies go, yeah some of them flopped BUT they are serving the purpose of raising peoples awareness (who would otherwise blindly trust everything the gvn't tells/shows them) that there is something terribly wrong with our government as far as its priorities, as the curators of a nation and its agendas abroad. IMO more specificaly in the realms of foreign relations. im not saying that we should just let everybody across/ into our borders, BUT i think we should seriously give peace a chance and dont just jump to war, rely on ourselves and "beef up" what our resources for energy.

in a nut shell, we need to focus more on home!!!

Oh boy.......I definitely agree we need to pull out of Iraq and stop spending money. There is gonna be ramifications for years to come both on our image to the world and our economic system. Our dollar is already lower than the euro and i believe Canada, but this can turn out to be a good thing. It will be a while b4 we recover.

However, Saddam did not comply with rules of the U.N., and he was warned before hand. I'm kinda middle of the road on this one. I still can't help to have some pride as an American. Propaganda comes from both sides, and don't doubt that for a minute. I find it hard to sympathize with culture that stifles progress and humanity.

DO NOT get me mixed up!! I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN IN ANY WAY!!! I agree with a lot of with what the opposed are saying. America has lost it's way, but I have a strong sense of brotherhood, no matter right or wrong.

I think anybody that would stick up for his buddy at the bar being stupid drunk and wrong would understand this. Or any family man defend his family no matter the cost.

Pauly Costalano told Sammy the Bull, "I listen to both sides of the story, and choose to believe somewhere in the middle." The Golden Mean.

We have everyone who wants to be in the war over there already, some of them dont even want to be there, but unfortunately its hard for the government to hear the others who don't want to be over there, yelling from their sofas and recliners.

I don't even know who Bush and Cheney are representing...maybe a small group of bully reactionaries. Even ( real ) conservatives hate them for the debt they have accrued and the interest we all will pay .... for nothing.

Maybe if we really cared about terror, we would stop bankrolling the countries that create it like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Without them...we wouldn' be here.
And we also funded the Taliban in the 80's.

Galipoli was also an excellent anti war movie.

They are representing a large group of people that do not exist anymore. The large and vocal segment in 2001/2002/2003 that wanted to destroy any Muslims/Arabs that gave the US a problem. These people existed after 9/11 this is not something to debate and the administration fed off this.

You say it as if the administration basically took advantage of public sentiment, when in actual fact it was the other way around.

The administration shaped public sentiment, anyone who has come across the now infamous Neo-Con think tank paper drafted by some of the top Zionist warhawks titled "Project for a new American century" that pre-dates 9/11 is aware of this fact, in this document it specifically states that America must "re-shape" the Middle East and that this can only happen in earnest after a "pearl harbour" type national disaster to ensure public support.

What you Governmental/zionist apologists fail to realise (those of you that are not following an agenda that is) is that this whole war on terror has been well and trully exposed for the farce it is from the very start, you like to refer to people like myself as conspiracy nuts, suggesting that we are somehow mentally inferior, yet we constantly produce evidence that you will not and cannot even face...not one of you has explained the whole "dancing Israeli's" aspect of 9/11, you cant call it conspiracy lies because it is a story that has been well documented by the media and you cant give a reasonable excuse for those Mossad agents being there that day. So you just simply bury your heads and revert to that old tried and tested ace in the pack...character assasination.
