Are yours the 'skinny-leaf' phenos, or have you got a mix? The male pheno was definitely the same type as the #2 female - the one on the right in the pic. The other female is much thinner and with darker leaves. Both look super-healthy right now.

I'm hoping to get these males flowering in the next couple of days, assuming they root OK...:)

Hello Elevator Man!

Your plants are looking amazing! I will be doing another run of some Thai seeds and some seeds I got in Laos as well. Outdoors in their native land! I have not started a thread yet, but the seeds are germinating!

Peace

Thanks ThaiPhoon - it's a shame I won't get to finish them, as I have to move out in eight weeks...:(

I'm meeting a few people this weekend to try and decide what's the best thing to do - I can't let these two die. Clones obviously, but I'd rather see the whole plant finished.

The solution...

The solution...

OK, I've just had a chat with my friend, and he's agreed to take both Thais off my hands, based on the pics here (I can't show him the plants as the lights are off). Not only that, but he's going to build a separate bay for them in his growroom this weekend, so they can remain on 10/14 - his main grow is on 12/12, which is no good here. He's also agreed to let me pollenate them when ready, and (obviously!) will give me a large bag to smoke at the end! Getting some new, viable seeds is the priority at the moment.

So I'm happy, given the circumstances - could have been a lot worse than that. So I'll take more clones over the weekend to make sure I've got plenty, and then off they go. Sadly the updates will be much less frequent, as he lives a good 20 miles away from me, but I will keep the thread updated as much as possible.

hi elevator man
update 1 def male def fem 1 still no sign
2 have streched to the moon
the male is the smallest of the bunch due to a slow start and is the quickest to show pre flowers,i will be crossing this with everything i have and will take clones to mother
this male has skiny leaves quite big but not as big as the other 2,looks like a regular big leaf
the other 2 have very big leaves(gigantic even)1 is a fem and is growing a bean like structure not to much branching with not skinny leaf more wide, but clearly a full on sativa leaf,i will topp this and flower when it starts to progress with flowering
the other pheno has gone crazy have topped , suppercropped but she keeps on growing, again massive leaf but of the skinny type more sativa leaning,im praying this is a fem,it has perfect structure, strong branches, and is most vigourous
also good news on finding somewhere to put the thai
i think the thai we have would do best straight from clone into flowering 10 14
to grow it indoors properly, but this is an early observation
i will do so as soon as i have rooted clones ready

Neilspotshop - I'm amazed he said yes - I was convinced he'd find the prospect of two sativas totally uninteresting, but no! And he's a good mate, so I'll have access to them whenever I want for hugs etc. Like any lonely dad would expect...:)

OJD - fantastic - I'm glad to hear you've got some variation too. I'm not having too many problems with stretch - I'm just bending them right over every time they stick their heads above the parapet! Those hoop supports are great for this job. They definitely vegged nicely on 12/12, and went straight into flower after a week of 10/14, so they're behaving exactly as a good Thai should.

They just have to stay the gender they started out now! I wonder if I should mention hermie potential to my friend...? :chin:

i just thought i would say that thai seeds mature very fast, in like 3-4 weeks.

i harvested mine and the plant decided it didnt want to die and its shot out aload more buds, reveged straight into flower lol :D

The Last Waltz...

The Last Waltz...

Well, I got a temporary reprieve today, as my friend couldn't make it over to pick up my girls, so we got to spend a little more quality time together - I tied them up nice, and straightened their leaves out, cleared the soils, had a little chat, held hands...

Sigh...it's no good, I've just got to let go. But I can go and see them, and take them presents, so I'm sure I'll cope. And I'm sure they won't forget me either...?

So...here's a few farewell pics - as can be seen, they're just starting to flower! Sorry for the out-of-focus shots, but I was struggling with floods of tears at the time...:)

I can see why you don't want them to leave such a nice leaf shape, and starting to put out the buds too. Keep your chin up :D

Neilspotshop - I'll be OK, though this is still more upsetting than chopping down the Malawi and throwing it away - it's always been my dream to grow some proper Thai, and now I've got this far, it's painful, but at least I'll get some when it's done...:)

ojd - Sounds like the 3rd one is unsure which way it wants to swing...:)

Glad you've got two confirmed though - I hope to get some pollen flowing from the male clones in 2-3 weeks, so will obviously save as much as possible, just in case...:)

Smokey - no probs...:)

And the plants have gone - we shipped them out in a large box and trashbags in the back of a van tonight...sad, but at least they'll go to a good home. Even better, my friend has decided to really go for it, and re-pot them again, despite my warning that they could end up six feet tall! He said: 'Bring it on...'

So I'll try and get over as regularly as I can to take some pics etc. - he thinks it's really funny that I'm so attached, but when I showed him this thread, and my rapidly-growing elite seed collection, he kind of understood!

I reckon they should be ready for some pollen in about three weeks, which I should just be able to manage with these three clones. Oh, and seeing as I have quite a bit of select second-generation purple Flo pollen handy, it would seem sensible to get a bit of that on there too whilst we're at it - kind of a 'meet the great-grandparents' kind of experience... :chin:

He does now have some idea of the 'extra pressure' inherent in posting a grow diary - he thought he would just be letting me down if he fucks up, but now he knows he's got a mystery army of eager supporters, all watching his every move!

I guess I could have spelled that out a little better for him before, but he might have said no then... :sasmokin:

He better take care of 'em! ;) A lot of people will be pissed off if he doesn't!

I remember I gave someone some budding NL X Shiva to take care of about 8 years ago. He got busted by family and I lost my plants. I just sprouted three of my pure Indian sativas. Should make for an interesting summer!

Now those I would love to see - wonder whether they tilt more toward Nepal or Burma/Thailand?

Or Jamaica...? :chin:
