TH Seeds Sage 'n Sour Grow Report

Upon arrival these 4 well rooted Sage 'n Sours start stinking up my appartment...

This winning pheno's body type is somewhat tall and lanky... it's leaves are long and have real thin fingers... limey green colored with a light purple shine to it... giving a fine citrus fresh odor already while they're vegging...

My first impression tells me this is something really special... the best I've had in my garden yet? Last year I've had Sage...

I've transplanted these 4 babies in 10 liter pots... using 'all-mix' soil... really standard...

The first two days I pour water richly with Rhizotonic and leave the lights (TL/fluorescent tubes/cool white) on for 48 hours.

From there on I feed them water only (adjusted down to pH 6.2) and let 'm have 18 hours of light a day.

In the second week the roots start bursting through the holes down in the pot... through the soil and through the layer of perlite that I use on the bottom...

I'm taking these shots with a low resolution camera... hopefully you still get a pretty good idea... and when the time is ripe I'll ask a friend with a high res cam to zoom in on the trychomes...

I can't hardly wait to put these into flower... I'll have space in my flowering room in little over a week...

Capt... I got these clones straight from the man at THSeeds... I was trusted these to give 'm a try and post grow reports on the net... guess I'm lucky and before anyone asks... I'm not to give any cuts away... I can only recommend to buy the seeds!

I assume this pheno is how Sage 'n Sour is meant to be... and if you got the seeds... look for the pheno smelling early in vegative growth...

Tnx Rez! Now I see you moderate things around here...

I've been playing with pH level since last year... buying a meter really helped... as I used to guestimate...
Advices vary to keep water pH between 5.9 and 6.4... when using soil... when using hydro cultures as low as pH 5.5 is good I heard...

As I trust your good advice I'll adjust water down to pH 6.0 as off next week... when I start adding some growt nutrient to the water... by now the roots grown have all over... hungrt for food... these babies are ready to bang... waiting until february when I have them flowering under 600 Watts light...

Rezdog? I've got one more question on pH level... here the tap water is high... around pH8... when I add rhizotonic the pH rises up to pH10... I never bother to bring this mix' pH down as I guess this is part of the trick... at this high level the roots can't pick up food so in their hunger they rush to grow??? The bottle says not to add any nutrient... for that same reason... it seems to work...
What do you recommend for cutlings and transplantings... when using root stimulant... like regularly, do you balance this water also down to pH6?

After 2 weeks vegging the plants have rooted well and grown some in height and width... not spectacular but good concerning the low light intensity... fluorescent tubes and between snow storms... the winter sun shining through my window ;-)

I've made me some cuts for a next growth... check the right bottom of the pic... I'll need only a few... 4 and I'll keep 1 mother for continuity... see how long I'll keep her...
Even if I don't need clones I cut away those lower branches that cannot keep up with the top part...

your a lucky person. I got seeds from adam last year but germination rate was very poor and the one that made it was a hermie ;-( . I will have to stop in to Hempworks and pick up some more. Good Luck with your grow Jubei

Sad to hear that... are you sure the conditions were good for popping the seeds? My S.A.G.E. seeds did germ 10 out of 10... and yes I too did find some bananas at the end of flowering seasons... I have learned that the chance on hermies and the extent of growing male flowers rise due to light stress... so keep the mom under 18 hours of plenty light...

In week 2 and 3 of vegative growth I have sprayed Bayers' Decis and Masai against pesty critters like trips and mites... just to be sure... as I won't spray while flowering... and with heights varying from 20 to 30 cm my first 4 Sage 'n Sours are ready to start flowering... by next week I'll have freed up some space in my room...

Meanwhile I've been posting on similar threads on 3 forums (Overgrow, ICMag and Cannabisworld) and maybe I will start a Dutch thread on Hennepdesk... as I'm quite new on these internet forums and using these 3 or 4 will learn which to favor and to keep as main forum... for more tests to come??!

Depending on the attention of readers I will continue posting here... and different reactions or questions will bring attention on different details... so not all threads need to evolve similarly...
