Few soil growers ever consider that plants in nature do not grow in dirt alone, but in various media which tend to occur in layers. In their natural habitat, plants grow their roots beyond the topsoil to extend into these different layers. It is important that they do so as typically densely packed topsoil presents a barrier to air reaching the roots. These layers of gravel and loosely packed material allow aeration of the roots, without which plants cannot convert essential minerals and metals into the products of growth.
The further we deviate from natural growth conditions the greater our risk. This is evident in traditional hydroponic systems that allow more air to reach the roots but risk damaging or fatal shocks from even slight nutrient errors. Nor can they reproduce the proper drainage qualities, simultaneously allowing for the expelling and absorption of the optimal amounts of nutrients and gases necessary for superior plant growth. Without proper transpiration it is impossible to maintain optimal growth conditions 24/7.

In the Supernatural Terrapot® the root hairs are in contact with the earths colloidal surfaces that are in turn bathed in nutrient solution. Thus, nutrient uptake can occur from the colloidal surfaces (through cation exchange). The conditions in the Supernatural Grow Pot reproduce the physical characteristics of natural plant habitat, allowing for the slow release of organics and minerals with constant replenishment as the plant needs them. The low concentration of earths water is quickly depleted, so the application of pure nutrients through sub-irrigation maximizes a plant's natural ability to feed. This feeding technique allows for the essential process of natural transpiration, while the medium provides a buffer for the roots to lend a very wide margin of forgiveness.

The feeding and watering of plants is probably the least well understood and most mismanaged aspect of plant growing. Even under optimal conditions, providing the proper amounts of water, nutrients and gases can be difficult and even a slight miscalculation can cause great trauma to the roots, especially when growing in containers. The roots compete for water with the growing medium, which the growing medium absorbs. Fluctuations in the pH level render nutrients unavailable to the plants. This situation is a far cry from Mother Nature. In a natural plant environment, all the essential elements are continually moving from bottom to top, just the situation the Supernatural® Terraponic Growing Method provides.

i wouldnt mind learning more abou tit it seems like its a soilish kinda of medium i dont understand how it replaces rock wool i would like to see it opened.

there just like clay pellets we got now as far as i can see. Ive been reading through it and only difference i can see is that they say it doesnt salt up like other clay mediums, and then they try and market their nutes for it. might work whos knows. Sounds like a marketing plot i dont see anything revolutionary but then again what do i know have anyone used this medium?

What it looks like to me is a DWC system with a massive amount of soilless/soil mixture being a medium.
