Hey Everyone,
I have looked in a lot of places and can't find the answer. I really would like to know what the term BX1, BX2 mean. Hate to sound like I don't know, but I don't know. lol.....I have seeds that at the end of their name it says BX2. Please help and I really appreciate all of you. :tiphat:

I would guess since I don't know either, but BX2 probably indicates what cross it came from and it's the 2nd iteration of that cross. 2nd generation. That's my guess.

Thanks xeno,

Sounds logical, I have seen the term used in reference to several different strains. I am thinking that it goes somewhere with F1, IBL, or in that area. Appreciate the reply, much obliged!

Bx means backcross and and example would be...
say a clone only strain, og kush, chemdog, whatever.
that female crossed to a different strain. grow out those seeds and find a male a cross it back to the original clone only and you have bx1. you grow out those seeds and find a new male and cross it back to the original female again and its bx2.

does that help at all?

those would be f2s you're talking about. and IBL is just consecutive Bx's until you reached you're desired traits in majority of the offspring. there is probably a more technical definition to IBL but that is basically it.

Mr. SourSmoker,
Thank you for clearing that up for me. I understand now that this line of seeds have been back-crossed for certain traits. Makes since...much appreciated my friend. Good day to ya. Bunch of cool people you'all are.!
