Tent users beware!!!

I build my own its tent 6x12x9, and I use ceiling hooks thru the "roof" to secure anything hanging(lites, fans, etc).
I was in a hydro shop today and a guy had his whole tent in there for a refund. The plastic corners, (his brand uses em) gave way under stress and heat, it folded in, broke the lite crashed on the plants(in mid bloom too!) and almost started a fire!!! :cuss: The broken HID was right on the system with water rollin' all around!! He was pissed, they gave him store credit and some but... is this enough? Maybe since they didn't make it but damn...so if yours has plastic corners..BEWARE!
PS I am trying to buy that tent and re-work its frame. It was a 4x10 I believe. Peace!

What kinda tent? and how much weight did he have on there? pretty fucked though... hopefully it wasn't a secret jardin... wonder if it was showing signs of bending before it gave in...

That sounds like a real bad deal, mine is metal, and works perfectly.
i don't think I would have gotten it, but I read up on those tents quite a bit before picking one up.

It wasn't a HyrdoHut. Mine is all steel. Of course the newer Hydrohuts have their own problems with outgassing.

Plastic corner pieces are STUPID construction. Bound to fail at some point.

Hey Lucky,

It is a Hydrohut. Zero problems, and worth every penny in my opinion. They come in some great sizes, the only way I would build myself a cab would be if it were to be a locker sort of design out of metal. I can't see myself using wood.

Also I just really despise plastic.

I hope this helps someone that may have one.It was a "Secret Jarden" 300, and they are returning it to the man'frs so no deal on a covering. :nono: Peace!

Probably too big and too much weight for the corners then the 300 is pretty big... Probably had a couple lights and the weight wasn't being distributed properly... fuckin 9'10"x9'10" thats a huge fucking tent...

Plastic corners like my 3/4" pvc tent? that filter weighs over 50 lbs and has been sitting there for over a month. nothing has shown any signs of stress to the point of breaking.

^^ Yeah . . . that 4X10 or whatever is a bigun

Maybe Secret Jardin & Hydro Hut can partner up & build one good unit!! And before I get one ? (shrugs)

homeboxes use the plastic corners, but they are extremely strong. I check mine every week, no signs of stress. XXL btw/

It would be my guess that both heat and weight played a part in this. The center "folded" down, as the corners gave way. ...."lvl " :badday:
Now it could also be this bloke didn't follow good construction techniques too. In any case check out your strengths and weaknesses and proceed accordingly, be safe! :joint:
