Tent is too hot! Help.

Hey, so I can't figure this out... I have a 315w CMH light and a 6 inch exhaust pulling air out the top with (as of right now due to 4inch inline fan being shipped broken((waiting for new one))) 2 passive intakes one 4 and one 6 inch. I am getting so much negative pressure about 5 inches sucked in on each side my tent looks like a house from a Tim Burton movie... Also have 2 6 inch clip fans going inside the tent... And I am still getting stupid high temps. My babies are not going to survive in this shit. What am I doing wrong here? Are my thermometers broken or something... Or is this real? When I hold my hand over the cups it doesn't feel like it is 90+ degrees. What do? Please Help before I lose them!

What is temp in the big room ambient temp? How long is exaust ducting, how much bend? Take another thermometer.

Big room is 70ish usually. Exhaust has short ducting with 90 degree bend at top. I have a 4inch active air fan for intake on the way.

And this may seem like a noobish question, but when i put germinated seeds into the soil. Do I start 18/6 cycle as soon as I put them in dirt or do I keep them in dark till they pop through. I guess I over looked this in studying And I already have had them under lights for 15 hours since I put them in dirt.

No problem with full dark they will pop yellow and will greener after lights come.
I don't know what is wrong with setup everything looks fine. How much cfm/mh3 is 6 exhaust. And where is I cant see from this pics outside of tent? Try lower exhaust duct right to the reflector and blow with oscillation heat from lamp to the duct. If you have problems now in winter with 70 ambient I dont think what will be happening in summer when ambient hit 80. Upgrade to air cooled hood is only way to grow in summer. So how much cfm/mh3 is extractor. What brand centrifugal or in line?

You just need cool air. Not unusual to see a 10 to 15F rise in temp in a tiny tent over external ambient temps.

Kinda overkill for a 315 LEC for sprouts, use something like Flo's for germination and veg until you get things sorted.

I assume you can't lower the temps in your lung room?

Until you actually need it.....move the light all the way up to the ceiling.

Just a suggestion: I would also move the inlet in the vent hose up until it is flush with the ceiling of the tent....or as close as you can get it.

Not sure you need an active intake fan. As long as your passive venting is 2x your exhaust.....you should be good. I'd replace the 4 inch intake with another 6....or even an 8 would work and give you plenty of air flow.....and still enough negative pressure.

Not sure what surface is under your tent, but if it's a cement floor then I would raise those pots off of the floor. An empty cardboard box would be fine. Cement sucks the heat out of pots and you want them warm during germination.

Good luck!

I always start germinated seeds under a 18/6 photoperiod and since you started out with light you should probably continue

can you bring in cold air from outside? or turn the heat down in the room.. ? like u have options.. and 83 isn't really bad for veg.. honestly.. ive run into the low 90s before in veg.. just keep your humidity up and you will just have faster growth lol.

need to get a few different kind of thermometers because some of these digital ones.. pick up the light into the metal piece that picks up temp and gives u false readings..

I get entirely too much neg pressure. My tent gets sucked in 5 inches or more on each side with the passive intake. And I'm sure the 4inch intake fan will lower temps at least a little and help with the neg pressure. The tent is on carpet. The seeds are already germinated. They had decent sized tails when they went into soil. Another question is... My humidity is shit hear... Like 20 percent. Should I buy a humidifier for that?

The fan is 440cfm its the active air brand. The fan is sitting on top of tent.

I do t have any fluorescents or anything right now... Sorta broke. I was told the CMH will do fine. I also got a 4200k bulb right now too.

I agree with GGW also its best to start out with cool white or daylight flos for the first week or so and keep them 1/4 inch above the babies.Ive never started them in darkness before so I could be wrong but I would be worried about them starting off with a stretch searching for a light source.I use a 4 ft 4 lamp T8 flo for the first two weeks or so.Keep them close and you will have 3-4 inch babies with several nodes and many leaves

What is a good accurate thermometer you could recommend? Cause I was thinking that too. Cause there is no way the air temp in there was hitting 93. When I held my hand over the the cups pretty much my hand was on the cup. It was a quite comfortable temp. And yeah 83 is good now.. But when I get to flower, isn't that too high? Plus I get horrible RH due to being on the mountains of Colorado. What is a good humidifier to get me to my 50 Mark for flower and as high as 60 or so for veg. I plan on misting the plants till I get something for humidity.

Isn't 4200k good for veg and such. I thought the plants stretch when they are searching for light (not being enough.) My light is about 24 inches away from them and and I don't feel much direct headlight over cups... And I can barely look at the light from how bright it is... I could be wrong I am a noob haha. But I guess I can look into it.

Today is day 2 since I have put the germinated seeds in the cups. 1 is like a quarter inch out of dirt already two of them are starting to poke through and one... I put maybe too deep down... And t
It is hopefully working it way up... I really want that lemon walker

I dont know your specific grow plan but the reasons for using flo' cfl is this:

Prevention of heat stress in sprouts. Stress leads to hermies.. etc..

Another area should be setup for veg/clone even if you are running fem seed. While you have a few of the plants going into bloom, you could be setting up another cycle. In my opinion flo is awesome for veg.

And if you run your tent for shorter times, you can control the heat easier, 12 hours of lamp time vs 18.

I don't have room for another tent. After this grow. When I move I will expand to a second tent. Which is what if like to do. Seedlings are looking good so far. Probably not going to use flos this round. But next I will look into getting something setup.
