Tent flaps open during dark period...

Two weeks into flowering. Last night I left my tent wide open during the entire dark period. Light in the room is not glaring, but I have two 4-tube T5s across the room about two feet off the floor. So it wasn't dark in the tent last night. First time this ever happened. If 12/12 is resumed now, will one night hurt the crop?

be more careful! lol i kid, ive done that many a time, hell just last week i watered 1 of 3 gallons of nutrient, then took a break to let it soak in...decided it would be good to smoke a kief joint while i waited...cut to me waking up in my recliner the next morning with the cab door open, and plants un-watered, it was only an hour or so into the dark period so i'll be fine but it can be easy to forget!

i would say don't make a habit of it, but most genetics can handle a few indiscretions, as long as they aren't under excessive stress to begin with(low light, nute burn, defoliation, drought), you shouldn't notice any repercussions...

If you want to have good airflow and not worry about light try this. If you have the circular duct openings at the bottom of the tent open those. Cut a two foot run of ducting and put half in the tent and half outside. This will keep an open, unrestricted airway and will act as a light trap too. If you put some paper towel or dryer sheet with a rubber band over the end outside of the tent it will act as a dust filter too. I never had any hermies or light problems when I did this with my tent.

I suppose in the wild they must get nights of continuous lightning! one night should not hurt them.
technically no, plants evolved over millions of years without any lighting whatsoever besides the daylight sun, the moon and the stars don't put out enough usable lumens to be even recognized by a plant, odd though that may seem, it's true. for the most part traditional outdoor plants have absolute darkness during the night and incredible, penetrating sunlight pounding them all day.

however plants are not like ipods and electric guitars, they don't have on and off switches, they don't start flowering instantly in one day and they wont start hermying instantly in a day, but if you were to make a habit of it and your genetics weren't the best, you could find yourself in seed county...
