Tent and proper intake to exhaust ratio.

I'm running a small tent in my bedroom 3x6 and until recently when I attatched a screen to prevent dust and dust mites from entering my tent i wasn't having any problems, but now the walls seem to be sucking inward when i close everything up ..

I know that the exhaust fan should have more CFM than the intake but the ratio i'm unfamiliar with .. it seems to me that because the walls are sucking inward i'm a little light on the intake.. Currently using like a 150 CFM 6" exhaust out the window to the outside, and a little industrial fan duct taped to a foot of ducting at the bottom of my tent acting as a intake..

What ur guys take on this, i don't want to have to remove the screen that attatched to the 6" ducting because its a bug barrier and i am fighting the battle with spinosad and thrips in veg..

Anyone with some comments on how to address this problem greatly appreciated.

The sides of my tent are sucked in all the time when I close it all up. If it's not causing any sort of problem with the growing area or affecting the plants, I wouldn't really worry.

I should say I don't worry about it at all.. I don't know your situation.. I have a 3x5x7 tent and a fan which is capable of 660cfm. It has a 3 setting switch on it.. Needless to say, I never switch it from the first setting. I wouldn't want my tent sucked through the damn filter!!!!!! LOL...have some sort of implosion in my room!! hahhaha

Anyway..just saying if it's not causing problems...it's not a problem..

Good Luck

For my tent I use one of the lower ducting vent holes as my passive intake. I close all the other flaps and use that as my primary fresh air supply. I only use a small run of ducting, maybe 2-3 feet, and that acts as a light barrier. I use dryer sheets or paper towel and a rubber band as an intake filter on it. After a few weeks you'll see the dust start building up. To prevent the sides of the tent getting sucked in by the pressure and thus lessening the available space, get some bungee cords connected between the support poles. It will keep the sides of the tent straight and allow you to get more plants in the tent if you want.

some advice

-lose the intake fan, your not running a industrial size room
-the tent sucking in is no problem, it's showing you good suction and flow from your inline, if you don't want so much airflow for some reason, get a speed controller and tune it to what you want
-filter is easy, you can tape some material to inside tent opening port, or as someone said use some duct and make a screen at the end

you need to be more concerned with pests though man.. relax and get on some biological control, I would hope you steer clear of poisons..

good luck, and relax
