Temps?

What is the highest temp you can have in your grow space without harming the quality of the plant? What about radiant heat? Right now if I hold my hand above my plant for 60 secs it gets warm, but not hot. I think the room temp is about 80 degrees, I am waiting for my thermometer to arrive any day now.

Some strains can withstand higher temps than others, but on a whole i dont like my temps to go over 80. High ambient temps will start to affect the plants health, while high radiant heat (ie from the bulb) will result in burning. Neither is a good situation to be in.
Enviroment control is vital in maintaining a ideal growing envir.

Thank you for all the input enyone, I am just waiting for my T5's to get here and then I should be able to get the temp down a bit. The lights I chose originally were cheap but not a good choice at all. They have gotten me through these first couple of weeks fine, but I defintely realize the need for improvement. My space for flowering is 22"x25"x70" WxDxH, will a 400W HPS be good for this space or should I do the 600? I plan on flowering 3-4 plants.

Thanks again for the input

almost 2ft x 2ft for bottom 3 maybe 4 i doubt you'll need at least 3 gal pots to flower in my nephew done a 2ft x 2ft bottom 4 ft tall box had 2 plants filled the inside he couldnt really inspect it properly after a certin point. he had to tie all branches together in the box he had a 400w hps above them box sat in spare room and temps stayed 72-75 in box he harvested 1/2 lb dry from 2 plants in a space like you wish to use but he found it very hard to maintain the plants in that box they really out grew it badly. but for your ???? will a 400w hps be sufficient yes very just have more then adaquite ventilation for the box or your temps will be very high

Wow thanks for the heads up Maj.PotHead, I have another space almost the exact same dimensions that I have debating over coverting into a second flower room. I am going to do so now for sure. What I have going right now are 4 Bogglegums and 4 Jackie-Os, I know the BOGs will be fairly small and maybe I can squeeze 3 if I had to in one of the flower rooms, but the Jackie is going to be a big lady, 2 max for sure per room. I am mostly just looking for a prime mom from each, and see what kind of quality I can get on my first try as well. I also have back-up beans if this first run fails horribly lol. In the meantime I'm trying to figure out what works best for my situation right now, and then I will make the best of it

Thanks again,
