Tempreture and humidity data logging

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a data logger to see what was happening in my cabinet when I was not around.
I was quite surprised by the information I am getting from it.
With the tempreture readings I have started running the A/C 24/7 to even out temp fluctuations that happen as the A/C cycles.
The humidity readings where even more suprising. Humidity spikes with A/C cycling, door of cabinet opening, even the nightly watering after lights out spiked humiditity to 80% for 1/2 hour.
With the information I am gaining I am able to control conditions even more.
Are there others out there using data loggers for other areas of there grows

air conditioning 24/7? what temp variance did you have before and after using the AC 24/7? are you talking about AC for the cabinet or for the room the cabinet is in? how much did the humidity variance change also? i don't know that it would be bad to have short term humidity spikes after watering, would it?
 
A few days ago I ordered an arduino, 8 temperature/humidity sensors, and 4 waterproof temperature sensors. I'll join the 21st century shortly.

Used to use a Radio Shack base unit with 3 remotes. But the only logging was manual. And the humidity was way off.

I am running the window rattler on my grow cabinet which is 4x4x6. I would have prefered to do it a lot of other ways but I have to work with what I have got.
The A/C is a 1.6kw 5000 BTU.
In the past I have had issues with small mold outbreks in large colas.
With a summer of predicted high temp and hummidity I could not run the chance of trying to grow in these conditions.
So this is where the A/C comes in.
Once installed and running for a couple of days it all seemed all is well.
Then one day I checked my high/low temp hummidity sensor and saw hummidity spike high at 88% with temps at 28c. For me that was not good. I had to know why so thats where the data logger came into it.
The temp side of the A/C is ok, it keeps my lights on temps under control. The next unit will be custom made with variable speed compressor for better tep control.
The hummidity was a little more fickle. With the A/C running hummidity generally sat at 45% then when the compressor stops the hummidity shoots up to 85%. As it comes down it hovers at around 28c for a bit at 60% before settling at 55%. So with those numbers I just run it around the clock.
As for the hummidity spike when watering it again hit mid 80s and took a while to stabilize.
So far I have made it through days of 40+ with high hummidity and my girls are raging along.
Another thing is when you open the cabinet door the numbers go out the door when you open it and they take a while to stabilize again.
The data logger is only a tool. What you do with it and its results is up to you.
For around a hundred bucks it is pretty cheap for the rewards thatyou can reap if you utilize what it tells you.
