Telling what sex it is before 12/12

Do plants show a preflower near the top of the plant before I switch the lights to 12/12? If so, how many weeks after sprouting from seed does this usually happen?

it's not possible as far as i know. and i researched for a year before i started growing. you should clone and put that clone under 12/12. and then you will get your sex of the plants.

After the plant is sexually mature it will show preflowers in veg. My moms all have a couple of pistils at each node and they stay under a 1K 18/6 and have never seen a 12/12 cycle in their lives...

buddy think you need more research, as mean mr.mustard 6-8 from seed like MTF said also. most plants mature 3-6wks of age when the nodes start to alternate

personal experince of cloning to sex is when the clone roots then establish's and shows sex the plants are also

as the Sandman mentioned, pre flowers will show once the plant matures in veg. i have a few plants in veg 24hrs and they all have preflowers. one was male unfortunately and one is female they have never lost light 24/7 and are different ages (couple mos) but heres some preflower shots.

Some show at 7,9,13 nodes regardless of whether or not they are alternating, some wait to alternate, it's all a strain/condition dependant thing, but most take 6 weeks...as others said, if you're impatient and the plant is big enough you can clone some lowers and test em out. Yet if they are big enough for clones then they are probably going to show soon anyways.
