($50)

fan and filter,

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=52531
($149)

400w ballast
($159)

a 400w phillips cmh bulb

and this hydro kit,

http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/p...c=34&jssCart=be20e8493d1eacf0ed1c2a354f272d4d
($284)

edit2: I see it may be cheaper to get 2 of the 6 plant starter kits , thats only 200 dollars. Here is a link to them:

http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=16&jssCart=be20e8493d1eacf0ed1c2a354f272d4d

Total is about 700-800 dollars (then i need nutes, and other stuff I haven't thought of im sure)

questions are:

will the entire hydro kit fit inside the tent ?

is this overkill for 12 plants all for me?

can i use this to start from seed or will the roots tangle with males and females be a problem ? I was thinking of having a soil mother plant and when it's ready take 12 cuttings from it and start them in the bubble ponic system.

Is this too much to spend for 12 plants? It sure would save me money on bud and keep me from having to deal with shady people is it worth it even though I might get caught ?

What nutrients should I use?

Thanks for everyones help

That hydro kit is a huge ripoff. You could easily build that for under $80. Dont spend your money on that. Here is a good tuitorial on recirculating dwc...

And there are other cheap alternatives that are better for marijuana growing if you search through the hydro section. My biggest mistake on my first grow was buying an expensive hydro system that was worthless and now collects dust. Build your own with your own personal adjustments to fit your situation/room. In those rubbermaid systems your roots will tangle and they will be hard to seperate which may lead to more problems. Having separate containers for your plants is a huge plus. Everything else you are looking to buy looks fine.

i'm not sure how to read that ... are you saying that you think you might get caught if you grow ? we ALL run the risk of getting caught, but if you think there's a reasonable chance that you WILL get caught then ... dont grow . what are the penalties like in your area for a first-time offender with 12 plants ?

money-wise, you are looking at a pretty big cash layout if you plan on buying everything on-line or at a hydroponics shop. DIY is WAY cheaper, but i realize that not everyone is comfortable with a drill, hole-saw, and wiring. so you will have to decide whether to buy or build.

since it's just for yourself, you could get by with less than 12 plants . my first grow was ONE plant, tree-style, and i was fortunate in that it produced enough to supply me (a light-weight consumer) for many months. first grows sometimes produce squat, regardless of the number of plants, due to rookie mistakes.

Have you read everything on the subject of Poison Tents? I don't know if I'd buy anyone's tent right now.

As to the kit, my single tub diy cost less than $4 but, I already had air pumps, tubing and air stones lying around. Retail cost from scratch, $30-$35. Add another $4 and you have a double. Use the money you save on some good beans.

home depot:
-pvc: can be used as a frame for a "hut" of any size
-buckets, cement mixing trays, storage containers: cna be used ina myriad of hydro OR soil designs
-finished/polished sheet metal: all types, shapes and cuts that can be used to reflect light
-paint(spray/rollon): there are different types for different surfaces and different jobs.

if your gonna spend your money i would say spend your moeny on a five piece power tool set, a HD home improvement book and go to work. the benefits are, you take the limitations off of what you can/are able to do/grow.

if you dont have the space then i understand but if youhave that kind of scratch to spend on a system then i say go the DIY route.

if anything, there are definitely ways you can cut corners and save loot on most of that stuff, for example buy the other stuff (fan/filter/grow system) but the tent, i am sure you can build one of those for shitloads less than $150
