TEERCSIdbREEDER's 400w Flower Journal

Hello to all fellow IcMag growers and aspiring growers! Here I will document the progress of my six flowering ladies. I hope to be able to update once a week or more. All my plants are grown organically and although this is my first time using a 400w HPS, I am no stranger to growing. Some of my work is on IcMag still under another name. The reason for new ID is for my evolution into real time growing, i.e; working on breeding projects to make new hybrid creations, dabble in DWC, select mothers and start working from clones. Right now I am a seed guru. I love collecting, trading, and buying new seeds. The thrill of never knowing what will come from this tiny seed, i love a surprise. But i feel its time to find some keepers and work on some projects. This first run i didnt take any clones so if anything special flowers i hope to reveg for clones later on. I dont use a PH meter which im sure im going to get hell for but once i can afford one and i get into some hydro ill definatly be needing one. Now that the introduction is done lets talk a little about the grow at hand....

SIX plants total, 2 TFD Power Skunk, 3 Reserva Privada Snowcap Romulan, and 1 G-13 Pure Power
VEG: about 20 days under 220w t5 mix spectrum then 10 days under 400w hps EYE Hortilux
BLOOM: 400w EYE Hortilux Super HPS, so far about 2 weeks into flowering.
CAB: 3.5' x 3.5' x 4.5', Carbon Scrubber => Aircooled Hood => exit room to Stanley blower exhausting outside cab, light is 14in from tops
TEMPS: Day 85*, Night 78*, 45% RH,
MEDIUM: S. peat moss, perlite, lime, bat guano, epsom salt, small amount of cow manure, 3 gallon pots
NUTRIENTS: superthrive (twice) in early growing stage, fish emulsion at end of veg stage and couple times within first two weeks of flowering, earth juice bloom and meta-k, and mollasses. use tap water thru PUR filter then bubbled for 24-48 hrs with nutrients
Training: LST, no pruning or topping

We are starting around the 2nd week of flowering, some are faster flowerers than others, obviously.

Here is a group shot (in cab) when i just switched to 12/12 on June 2nd and i count like a week from there to be start of flowering so about 2nd/3rd week. (Sorry about the bad picture, real picture skills yet to come)

UPDATE:

UPDATE:

ill guess ill give a little update even tho im not getting any IcMag love here. 5 days and no comments, oh well. Ill leave anyone who is watching with a 5 day update on these six beautiful ladies.

In the morning of 7/30 we have great progress in the Pure Power. very fast at flowering indeed and she looks to be quite the producer, or so it seems.

All the rest are progressing at their own rate. Pictures below are of the whole six of them crammed as best as i could so all reaped the benefits of that light.

Still have a little yellowing on one of the Snowcap romulans. it had a mg toxicity so i flushed it once and the last two watering just been giving it plain water. it has come around but still on the pale side i was wondering if i should add a tsp of fish emulsion when i make my tea next to help with the yellowing. they are around 3 weeks old by now but its a 9-10 week strain. any suggestion would be helpful.

Hope you stay tuned!

thanks i was beginning to wonder why no one was chimeing in, i took some time writing it all up. well anyways thanks and im hoping for a great show, all these are grown from seed about 4 weeks veg and all are first runs with strains.

got close to 65 tops/branches

nice lst work, i will be tagging along as well...

thanks! its great to have viewers, i usually dont share my work. i much prefer lst to topping or supercropping. i veg for only 4 weeks (seed), and if i topped or supercropped i feel like i lose at least a week of veg. this way i open it up like open heart surgery and it has the same effect. i hate physically damaging the plant if you really dont have to. some leaves need to be taken out to make direct like to other branches.

Looking nice.
Some icmag love for you from Denmark :)
Probably should have vegged them a little more with only 6 plants in there but I bet you're still gonna have a nice pile of smoke.
Good luck with the reveg if you find a keeper - don't let the buds mature too much if you decide to do so - better to cut it a week early.

yea i like to run my plants at typically 90 day intervals, one month for veg and 2 months on average for flowering. i grow for a personal amount and much rather have quality over quantity. once i move i will be running a 400w mh for veg and 600w hps for flowering. so far i dont see anything that is really worth keeping for breeding. at three weeks we are starting to get some trichome production.

yea unfortunatly i dont have the room or the money for new equipment. mayb after this grow ill start investing. after these ladies finish in about 6 weeks i have 5 plants vegging. they should end up a little bigger than these 6 did in this run. next seed run up are 2 GHS Trainwreck, 1 california hash, 1 Blue Hash, and 1 Power Kush. by the time im done harvesting the first run my vegging plants should be almost 2 months old.

i never top during my grows so all my plants end up with that huge main top cola plus with the help of the lst training i get at least 10+ other smaller top colas. last run of mine with flowering under 220w t5s i netted a little less than 5 grams per branch (that run ended w/ a little under 8oz dry). i dont know how this hps will do against my high first run but i hope to beat it with 10oz at least!

UPDATE:

UPDATE:

its now around week 5 and the indicas (Power Skunk & Pure Power) seem to be plumpin up pretty nicely. the trichome production is definatly on full blast. These 3 plants have about another 3 weeks to go. ive been adding 1 tbsp/g EJ bloom and meta k along w/ a tbsp of molasses every other watering. The Snocap Romulans are terrible imo, terrible from the start, and terrible to the end. They are really sensitive to any kind of fluctuation or nutrients. Im used to growing big fat indicas that can take alot of nutients. either way i will have still have plenty of smoke for this time around.

the whole room. power skunk & pure power on the left and snowcap romulan on the right.

and this plant i have to show. i grew this one in the first snowcap trial run which ended in 2 dieing and 1 surviving....kinda. this plant had no leaves from the beginning. without any leaves it managed to make a huge bud, plus it was squeezed in the back where it hardly got any light. my girlfriend said keep it because at least we will have a test bud before our others are done. so i kept it and its almost ready i think ill give it another week and then its getting the ax. this plant really shows how far you can push a plant and it will still bud like a weed. not the best looking but im sure itll give some hope to people with shitty looking plants. they will still produce.
picture.php

its on day 60 of probably 70. the amount of leaves on it there are no more than it had when it started flowering. it is foxtailing everywhere and starting to pack on trichs which the breeder report says it does in its final week.

ill probably update in 2 weeks when i start flushing.:joint:

will be taking pictures tmrw, the 3 indicas are getting pulled sometime next week.

right before the bulk up...pure power

and this was the terrible plant that had no leaves. taken premature but still provided a nice calm high.

will have more pictures soon.
