Yeah I've got one. I run it with a variac controller on the lowest setting in a 120 x 120 tent. It runs permanently and is really quiet, couldn't say anything negative about it.

Well worth the investment.

S+P TD 150s. 6" awesomeness. 330CFM on high wired to 120v no controller, attached to a 6" filter. Always on, no ducting off exhaust end at the moment - acting as a recirculating scrubber. It doesn't get quieter imho. ~350$ CDN with amazon prime to your door/po box in two days. Costs about twice as much as a china inline, probably about 5x the quality. (not a professional assessment :p)

The s suffix dictates the SILENT series. I have seen the 8" too, looks like a jet plane turbine just scaled down. Fuck me that was silent for the movement it created simply being held in the air while plugged in.

Just picked one up for someone, they are extremely thrifty and hard to reason with. I did my best to assure them it was worth the investment as they were not able to compromise on security in that department. They actually made a point to thank me for pushing them in that direction - regardless of cost! Also plan to buy a second, I was flabbergasted!

I have the S&P TDS 8" and 6" - both attached to carbon filters.

EXTREMELY quiet and reliable (so far). I've had both of them running non-stop for over a year now with no issues.

Got them for a pretty decent price from VentingDirect.com

Anyone know if these fans run slower in conjunction with a variac controller when wired in to the low speed connection rather than the high speed one?
