hey guys im new here but i figure the toker's den is as good of a place as any, this thread is about tannerite and how they are talking about banning it i just saw a MSNBC report on it making it out to seem like a massive scale bomb and this thread is to separate fact from fiction,
What in the fuck is it? : its explosive targets that gives a pretty good pop but is expensive, its made with Ammonium Nitrate and Aluminum Powder
Well it has Ammonium Nitrate in it WTF!!!!! : yes but a vary little amount and its pretty goddamn expensive for just the little tub it comes in 3 pounds of tannerite is about 40 bucks
oh.... WELL TERRORISTS CAN STILL DETONATE THE FUCKING SHIT: yes but the only two ways it will explode is shooting it with a larger caliber bullet (not a .22 or .17HMR) or a hammer hitting it (giving the hammer manner is strong enough) can still cause a reaction so maybe a suicide bomber could use it if he's got one hell of an arm
EXACTLY FUCK WAD: goes back to my 2nd point its pretty expensive and if you knew even the basics of bomb manufacturing you could achieve cheaper and way more effective for scale you'd need maybe 1000 pounds of tannerite in order to do devastating damage that would not only be expensive but hard to transport
with google anyone can find how to make deadly biological weapons and explosives so why use tannerite???

i guess a fair argument against it beside terrorists using it is that there are alot of people in this world who dont take the time to care about the safety of them and others around them
