Will my sativa plants benefit from a net while in early flowering although their not leaning over? Plants are about 5' + right now an the pistils/budsites jus started showing.

Nice pic. Your plant defiantly has some strong sativa influence. You don't need a net for them, just use bamboo stakes if any of the branches start falling over. If they are not falling down already I would not worry about it. Also remember that having a fan blow on them strengthens their stems and strong stems need to be supported less of the time.
