takeing cuttings

hi guys when takeing cuttings would it be ok to put them straight under a 300 watt cfl light

I wouldn't. Contrary to nature. You want low light for rooting. i use one 24" t-5, raised high with a layer of white paper towel on top of the dome. -granger

I root my cuttings under a 1000 watt lamp when my veg room gets to full.

300 watt cfl is not much light, it will work just fine. Keep the bulb a ways away to begin with.
