i've used T5 to veg only. Anyway they work great and i think they are more uniform light than regular CFL. I've used T5 @4100K (this is mixed spectrum with mostly red and some blue if you see a graph) and again it worked better than i thought. If i dont go wrong the same type of bulb is used in bigger systems like spectrum reflex.
I did a trial run with some Rhino Low. They can definitely be used to flower AF's, but you are going to want to LST if you can help it to give more light coverage.
i dont take airy buds for lack of light atleast when running a high output t-5 light, i just harvested an outdoor sativa with airy ass buds but still the size of a wine bottle and my indoor girl under cfls is very dense n tight, so much so that i had to trim leaves to increase air circulation to stop some mold, its just the genes that make buds the way they are but only if your running cfls or t5 or hids, incandescents or plants extremely far from any type of light will always be airy. look around the forum, theres some amazing t5 buds to be seen. check this out= http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=83856&page=5
If you compare watts to lumens. The T5 will OUTPUT a 150 HPS.
Also this depends on what type of light you are trying to compare a T5 setup for, Most use FULL spektrum bulbs and not the correct color you need. I bought 2 55X 2700k PL-L and 2 55 x 6500k. Thats ruffly 19200 lumens. Under a cost of 60 bucks total. Also it is 1/2 the heat of a HPS or MH. Just read and learn as much as you can before you make your choice.
People have to do some more research on this. There is alot of info on this. I am myself still complicating if I should do this, a DIY CoolTube, or get a 150 HPS for my Next Setup.
terminator what u said makes no sense- now had you said you just put plants under 112 watts of light and nothing happeed i would of understood you, live n learn
