T5 limitations??? Sour 60

I would like to get an early start this year. A friend just dropped of a sunleaves T5 eight bulb fixture! (47"X25.5"X2.75") I know this bulb will work great with clones and vegetative growth. But will it flower Sour 60 and mostly will it make mature viable seeds and viable pollen? :smokey:

People have been flowering with floursencents long before HID's, and plenty of people flower with T5's today using 12/12 strains(I have). AF's are a lot less demanding than normal strains, since they tend to be much smaller, generally less light is needed. Your Sour 60's will do better under those T5's than any 12/12 strain, you'll have no problems with nonviable seeds or pollen either.

I'm sure you could put an AF in a 16oz. cup with a 23w CFL and end up with seeds/pollen plus a little smoke. Haven't tried it myself though I'm sure it is possible.

A couple of months ago I found a Bluestreak bastard child growing in the sand under a shady tree. It was 3-5 inches tall and flowering. The funny thing is, I hadn't grown there for nearly a year before I found it and I didn't make any seeds there so it must have been one that got away form the original batch (it didn't germ for like 8 months). It had next to no light or nutes though it still flowered and produced adequate smoke.

I've been looking into T5 fixtures lately and read on the manufacturer's description that the T5s using the 3000 Kelvin bulbs are better suited for flowering. The 6500 kevlin setup is for vegetative growth. Might want to look into swapping out the bulbs if you find yourself with the wrong ones. Both types will work in the same fixture. You can even mix and match them if you want.

I just went full cycle under a four bulb T5 and it worked great!

Just switch out your bulbs when you hit bloom.
