T5 footprint+50 seeds underneath

hola amigos

I recently bought one of the 4ft. long , 8 lamp T5 flouro units and I was wondering on what the general footprint of these are ??

The plan is to attempt to put a solid 50-60 seedlings under this badboy starting out in 32oz cups, veg them out till they're big enough to Top a clone from each ... Put the clones under 12/12 light and sex them before the original seed plants get too big and then weed out the males so that I hopefully have about 25 females to deal with. After they got too big for the T5 i'd put them under 4 600w hps for further veg and eventually into flower.

I was wondering:

#1. Would I need another t5 lamp to pull this off or would this be big enough ??

#2. Also - about how big do you think the plants will be before I should Top them?? And how big before I should put them under the HPS' ??

thanks as always - burn one down :rasta:

- Id say 1 would be enough, although I would consider to put them under 1 600 a few days before the go in flower to get used to it, and boost some.
- Top early, let some branches develop
uhm, given about 50 seeds, and 50% males, and 4 * 600, means about 6 plants per light yes?
Put them in flower when they have about 50/75% coverage of your area, depending on how much this strain will grow in flower.

How early should I top ??

I was thinking around the 4th node but someone at some point said I should wait and top later than that.

And yes , 6 plants per light is the plan , giving each around 100 watts.

I top at the 4th node, but it depends on your individual setup.

Try starting them out in 7oz cups instead. Transplant them to 20oz and then to the 32oz. If you wait until they fill the cup with roots before transplanting each time, you'll have a concentrated root ball that will greatly enhance your yield. Vs starting in the 32oz.
