Switching clones from 30 gallon smarties into the ground

A friend was considering putting our plants into the ground--with consideration theres only a few weeks left of veg time--if that much time at all. I think we'd be spending more money for a minimal gain but am being convinced instead of 8 ounces we'd pull pounds.. I told him not with a minimal veg time - after a certain point its not the pot that grows the plant , its the grower.. the ground would've been my suggestion during May but that wasnt an option then.. and nowthe extra effort sounds like a waste of time because we'd practiaclly be transplanting them directly into flower? Please convicnce me that transplanting late july from a 30 gallon smartie is a good idea when the site isnt even addmended with proper soil..Looking for anything plz

Just loosen up the ground where you are putting the 30 gal pot, and let the roots grow through the fabric into the ground.. might need to cut bags off the ground later but whatever... Your roots get to stretch out some more, and you'll still get the benefits of a smart pot.

This is what I did and my plants exploded with growth :peacock:

^^^THIS!^^^

Just place the pots on the ground and water the soil around the containers every once in a while.

If you've got roots all through the container already, it's only logical that more roots would support a larger, more robust, plant.

Ime... plants grown in ground, in natural soil, are more dense than plants grown is loose soil/soiless mix. Probably a phenomenon that only occurs in my set up though.
