at what point do u change ur lights?

im using a mh bulb for vegging and im gonna change the bulb to a hps bulb for flowering...
the problem is i dont really know when to change it...

should i change it at the same time that i switch to 12/12...
or
should i wait till the stretch is over...

Ive always used a dual arc bulb that is 60/40 red /blue the entire way through...

Im pretty sure that i should wait till they stop stretching...

r u sure... i always thought that the red hps bulb will make them stretch more then the blue light of the mh ...

would it b better to switch the lights after the stretch is over ...

There's many factors that control stretch. i.e. nighttime temps, too much nitrogen during flower time, too much CO2, and a HPS bulb. Hortilux Super HPS has enough blue to not worry about this and focus on perfecting other conditions.

I prefer to grow with a Hortilux Super HPS because it emits more lumens than a Metal Halide and I like the nominal stretch I get from it. I flower my plants when they're small and train them the first two weeks to deal with the stretch.

What type of plants are you growing and what style?
