? switching a ballast from 120 to 240 volt

i am switching to using 240 volt to save on amps so i can add a couple extra lights. i am using a purchused 30 amp 240 volt power box. the box comes with standard 120 plugs so i dont have to rewire the plugs on the ballast. now with in my ballast there is a little bridge labeled for each voltage . here is the pic






is it just a simple as moving the red "hot" wire over to the slot labeled 240 leaving the ground and neutral as is .... i called the store i bought it from , but i didnt get a clear answer he is difficult to understand
any help would be good

sounds like u already answered your own Q.
YES! plug the red/hot into the labeled 240 plug. my ballast has wirenuts at the ends so i think your layout is clean. it should be just a twist of that screw.....

Im not sure on this but switching to 240v doesent give you more amps.You can get same number of lights on 240v as 120v.Say you get 4 lights on 240v you get 2 lights on each of 2 lines of 120v.If your 240v power box has 120v outlets thats probadly whats coming out and has 240 going in.Is it one those that plugs into dryer plug.If it has 2 single breakers of 15 amps It divides the 240v into 2 120v lines and each line has a breaker.If it has 30 amp breaker that would be the main for the box. 240v coming in.Thats the only thing I can think of a 240v box can do.you cant change a single 120v to 240v and no point in going from 240v to 240v.

Just wondering if you got it going.One more thing is your light socket still grounded the way its is wired now.A loose or bare wire well just my $.02
