I assume soil since it is in the soil thread.. I really have no idea whats good since I have only used one for veg and its crappy don't even want to mention.. for bloom i use flora nova..
I plan on purchasing Pure Blend Pro.. Going to do organic..
Or you can just do your own blood meal, bone meal , guano and casting mix.. never tried that yet.. I should also..
A lot depends on your budget. If you have some money to invest (a few hundred dollars) either the Advanced Nutrients 2+ program or their new organic line (Iguana Grow and Bloom) is a great line specifically designed for cannabis plants.
Or, if you are on more of a budget, you can go as inexpensive as $20.00 -25.00 if you invest in some fish emulsion (both grow and bloom), some sea kelp/seaweed extract for a little foliar feeding and some bat guanos that you can make teas with.
I highly recommend Advanced Nutrients. I used them with great success and recommend them regularly. To get their full lines (which is comprised of many supplements) you spend a bit but I look at it this way. If good herb sells for $300.00 - 400.00 like it does in most markets, then one ounce will easily pay for it and it lasts for many, many grows (at least 4 or 5). As I said before, they have openly stated that they design their nutes specifically for cannabis and I have to support a company with balls like that. Additionally, their customer service is the tops in the industry, they have an online nutrient calculator to help you mix your nutes by and a tech support guy that will answer ANY AND ALL questions about how to grow great herb. I can't recommend them highly enough and, NO, I don't work for them!
Thanks everyone, I guess I should say that I am growing in local volcanic soil and I live in Colombia (a poor country) and I just need a good (cheap) basic plant food that I can order online and have shipped here as cheap as possiable. Advanced Nutrients sounds great but I think it might be alot more then I need (or can afford), I only grow for myself and my sister in law(MS). And $300 or $400 and oz. wow! Nothing cost $300 an oz here but on the other hand there is no "super dank" for sale here either. All the weed I have bought here is about $2.50 an oz. Thanks again any other ideas are welcome.
Peace
Very good idea hazyfontazy and even though I live near a city I have yet to find a garden store as we know them. I have found many little shops that sell plants but the plant food they have seems to have no effect. It's like they (colombians) don't really care about feeding the plants here cause they grow quite well by them selves (tropics). The other thing I can't seem to find is clonning powder or something to help me clone. I asked the guy at the little plant shop near my house about clonning and he said just break a piece off the plant and stick it in the ground. So you can see the mentality here is somewhat basic.
about the cloning i would fall the columbiam adivice. stick tem in the dirt and they will grow, i´ve done it myself with good results. can't see why they woun't thrive in that wonderfurll and rich soil! give it a try!!!
i'm sure they will thrive!!!
by the way i'm loving your colombiam ladys i had never tried the infamous gold but i would love soo much rave about her!!
lucky bastard you are buying $2.5 an oz, wow that's luck
A KISS rookie fairly cheep nutrient/soil guide – there are others – but this works well for me – see the Sugar Shack (link below)
ProMix/worm castings/perlite – or your local growing soil
Veg; Pure Blend Pro Veg & Calmag+ = 1 gal of PBP & 1 qt. of calmag+ = apx. $50.00
Flower: PBP Bloom/Calmag+/Big Bud - or another flower booster - add apx.20.00
= total apx. $125.00 and will last quite a few runs in a smaller garden)
I used the FULL AN line and do not recommend it – some of there line is good – others – WAY over rated IMHO.
If your looking for a very cheep but ‘workable’ local or online product – Alaska 5-1-1 and their Bloom 0-10-10, pulse Epsom salts will work / a chemical cheep you can use fertilizer is ‘Shultz’ products for tomatoes / be very careful using them as they can be very hot – personally – if you ‘have’ to use them – I would also give them a good long flush to finish them.
If you can; keep your pH monitored as the additives can drop or raise the pH levels to a point they can hurt your crop. In time you can learn how to use root/bloom additives but for now the above plan will produce VG results / remember to always go ½ strength till you see how they handle it.
I feed – feed – water – feed – feed - water – water / start over till they are ready to flush.
Good blessings on your choices, grows and life
Ps. look in Capt. Crips thread he uses GH Flora Nova - a fairly cheap concentrate & he gets great results
