Super Lemon Haze, 245W CFL, SCROG

Hey guys! Glad to be here again. I took a break from the forums for a while, but continued growing the ganj! After my successful first attempt at a Sweet Tai, I cultivated Deimos, which wasn't up to my expectations, and White Widow Auto, which was pretty damn good. All in all, the autoflowering experience didn't live up to the hype, leaving me wishing for better taste, potency and overall yield. I can see the benefits, but it's not for me at the moment.

So this will actually be the second time I grow a regular feminized plant. I chose Super Lemon Haze after falling in love with it last summer. Some changes have been made to the cabinet: bit more light and larger pots promise to make this a more interesting cycle. Also, modular fans!

This is how it starts!

They showed their first water leaves on the 19th of June and on 12th of July they were put on the definitive containers. One of them is a mutant, I believe.

They are currently growing on 1:1:1 Humus:perlite:peat. They are being fed with a Chilean fertilizer line called Powerplant, similar to delta9 (probably not as good) but cheaper, hehe.

Cheers!

I decided enough mess was enough. I was sick of soldering crap so I decided I had to do something about it, which resulted in more soldering.

I bought three 3.5 male audio jacks and three female ones, and made this! The fans connect to a regulable voltage power supply, with the female jacks rigged in parallel. Much more like it.

What's the dealio with this one?

Oops! We overshot it! The plants needed to be moved to a new environment with more space and nitrogen! No biggie, a bigger pot and more humus saves the day.

Much better.

This was taken on 24th of July, a bit more than a month old.

Thank you guys! I want to add something for posterity: Jiffy pellets suck major ass. They don't retain much water, dry up too quickly, are too small (which means one additional substrate change) and aren't worth the hassle overall. I advise my future self (and any others) to forgo the use of jiffy pellets and sow the seed straight into germinating mix (peat+perlite) after they pop out, which means faster development in the first week or two.

Hey fellow gardeners, just a quick update. The girls are looking fine! Even the mutant started producing decent-looking leaves, I don't know what it will end up doing, but surely it will be something smokeable (or edible hehe).

Here's a picture of one of the healthy ones, one week after the last picture was taken. It's actually the smaller one because the big one is already stuck in the scrog.

Hey guys! Quick update here, these were taken 10 days after the last ones. We've been adding Powerplant's Vigorplant which is a veg nute with plenty of N, and MgSO4, because from experience my substrate has been a bit lacking in Magnesium. We've diluted the dose of Vigorplant to about half potency because the bottom leaves have been getting a bit too green for my taste. Nothing to be worried but they have to be listened to. I think we need a bit more P and K because the petioles have been getting a bit red so I'll deal with that with small doses of flower nutes and red guano.
They reached the screen!

Here's the retarded one. She takes the short bus. I'm beginning to suspect that it's not a mutant but rather she dried up a bit too much in the germination or seedling stage. This has to do with those damned jiffy pellets I believe.

Cheers!

I have one question regarding this leaf here. It's one of the oldest leaves in the plant. Is it normal? The pic shows variations in colours but it's really a very uniform dark green colour.
What could it be?

Thanks guys.

Hey guys! Update time. So, the grow hasn't been going great. Not bad, just not perfect. 4 days ago I spotted a Nitrogen deficiency AND a Magnesium deficiency. The growth has been slow these past weeks, and I think this might have to do with the fact that our soil didn't have too much Phosphorus to begin with.
Advice to future self, feed the plants:
Nitrogen: Vigorplant, 1 cap (5ml) per litre at first every two waterings. Second month should be 1.5 caps.
Magnesium: Epsom salt, 1 spoonful per litre every two waterings.
Red guano: 1 spoonful every two waterings, start on second month of veg and continue into flower.
Humix: 0.5 caps (3ml) every two waterings. Flower only.

Another thing. Fix the goddamned net. It's too big, too high and just poorly placed. Cut the net, lower it and lower the lights.

Sorry bout the rambling.
Cheers!

lookin good ralenti, i have a slh in a 15 gal smart pot outside this year and she looks great. smells pure citrus lemon goodness. get your feeding schedule down and do the adjustments you want and you shall be rewarded with some lemony goodness. you should try vertical scrog with your cfl and wrap your plants all around your light. put that screen on the walls and tie the girls back. it works great i just finished a 250w hps grow and am very pleased with the results and how little effort it took to maintain. keep up the good work and keep us all posted, digdug!!

Hey guys, update time! So I changed the photoperiod to 12/12 about 20 days ago and we're starting to see them bloom! They stretched a bit, I think to about twice the area, we were able to estimate the stretch well and so they filled the net nicely with no problems of space. In the background you can see chlorotic half dead leaves that were symptomatic of the deficiency that we addressed last time, so no problem there either. Seems like our summer will be very interesting!

I have one question, though: when do I mark the start of flowering period? This strain is supposed to be a 70 day flowering period. Do I start counting from the day I switched the lights? I usually wing it, and judge maturity from trichomes anyway, but I'm curious as to when I will harvest.

Cheers!

Hey guys! Update time. It's been about a month already (I think) since the girls showed their private parts and they are looking fine! I wish these pictures were scratch and sniff because the sweet, lemony smell is absolutely gorgeous! They're like no other plant I've ever smelled. Lemon pie is how I'd describe it best. Stretch is over and now they're starting to fatten up. No deficiencies so far. They sure love to eat! Since we're on a budget, no biostimulants or other fancy nutrients have been applied, so they're still on the Humix diet. BUT we are going to start feeding them some Alghum by Bioecological, which is a flower biostimulant, it improves microbial activity in the soil and it has some K. In other words, bigger buds.

Some pics!

Cheers!

Hey guys! Only one week has passed since last update but I wanted to share some pics I just took. I did a bit of defoliation afterwards and forgot to take pictures!
