super Colorado wetness.... bud rot?

i have a horse shed I can pull my plants under tomorrow. The plants have been saturated for about 3 days..... How much/long does it take constant wet for bud rot to set in? This has been largest outdoor I've done and mother nature seems to think I should fail..... Any tips and hints will help. Plants are all around 6 ft tall in large pots Dwill need a dolly to move them) because my ground soil bites and because I wanted to be able to move them if needed. could this grow be toast after 4 days of pretty solid saturation?

thanks much!

Naw dude, they are ok after a few days of rain. I would do what you are planning and pull them under the shelter, then shake them( careful to not snap anything) to remove excess water, then inspect the thicker buds for mold/rot. I would suspect they will be fine, unless you're growing some early budding, mold susceptible strains. Good luck!

I don't find constant rain to be such a big deal if you constantly shake them every 8-12 hours. Getting the majority of the water off by shaking them will prevent a whole lot of bud rot on big plants. Just don't let water droplets sit on them too long and they will do alright.

shaking does the job.. plus most cant carry leaf blowers into the woods to blow there Trees? haha

botrytis needs moisture, cool temps, darkness, and still air to thrive. if dehueys and heaters are out of the question, at least keep air moving over them. open the buds with your fingers the slightest bit. this lets air pass through and is a good way to spot mold early.

since they're already wet, you might want to pony up $20 for a pouch of actinovate. it's a bacteria that attacks a host of fungi. 1 tsp./gal and mist em lightly. the stuff works.

good luck!

This is actually probably one of the best recommendations. I grow in dry climates typically so I'm not familiar with this product but I have heard several experienced growers here on icmag swear by it it's ability to combat mold/fungi/etc. Hoping I don't ever need to use though.

I have wondered if it has any potential for altering the taste/smell of the finished/cured product though?

you guys rock! The rain stopped today. Massive flooding all over CO which is unheard of but they have actually faired quite well. I dug my fingers through a lot of the buds and all looked well. Not one sign of mold and everything was nice and weed stinky, no mildew stench of any sort.... We'll see. I'll get some pics up before the season is over.

All is well aside from a few broken branches and some that didnt have as thick of a canopy are a bit water stressed. I'm not going to get quite the yield I hoped for but it will still be pretty decent. Thanks again everyone! not bad considering the flooding in my area has taken out roads and buildings like never before.
