Super Awesome Grow Room Design Idea...

First off, I'd like to say hello to all the ICMag growers here and thank you for all the knowledge I have gained from this site. I know it's my first post, but i have been lurking around for a few months and actually may possibly have a grow going on right now...but prefer to stay off the internet radar.

Anyways, I was up late the other night when the idea of a (on paper) real efficient grow room idea struck me. Lemme describe how it works (refer to attached photo):

Basically, all the lights would be 250w HPS (or greater depending on your needs). A separate grow room would be needed as this would just be for flower. All the plants would be sitting around the edge of a large round table roughly 3 feet in diameter. The table would be sitting attached to a Christmas tree spinning platform, so that the table rotates 360 degrees around (don't know what the RPM is)

The table would have wheels attached to the bottom like those on a shopping cart to help spin/balance the weight. The 3 lights would be located with one hovering over the middle of the table without a reflector, one placed vertically against a wall, and another hung from a shelf only covering the plants on the far edge of the table.

By doing this, each plant would be hit with 360 degrees worth of 750 HPS watts. There would also be no "sharing" of light as each plant would go through an assembly line of light and get the full 750 watts. When i get the space to, I plan to set this up perpetual grow style, with 24 plants and harvesting 3 a week on an 8 week flowering schedule.

I was thinking of adding a SCROG but personally am impressed with DrGreenBudGenes' way of watering where he flood & drains each plant individually.

Anyways, on to my 3 minute paint drawing.

Any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, etc please feel free to post.

EDIT: i'm guessing that because it is my first post i can't post pics, so lemme work on that. until then, check my gallery for a pic

sounds like a very well thought out idea to maximize light effenciency. the lights would definitely need air cooling if more than 250 was used per bulb, personally i'd do 2 400's or 1 400 and 1 250, just the center mounted vertically and a side one mounted horizontally, 1 less ballast and bulb to deal with, and a few more lumens.

ahh that reverse osmosis garden takes up a lot more space, and seems harder to deal with it being all enclosed like that, the rotating christmas tree stand is small, and would have a flat platform that splins the plants around into the light, which could be give a gardener easy access to plants in the back, which will be spun to the front within 60 seconds, especially in tightly enclosed areas like mine, 4.5x4.5x4.5 WxLxH which would easily accomodate a nice 4x4 platform to maximize growth on. Definitely gonna hit the drawing boards.

Btw the rotation takes about 60 seconds i believe which seems like a nice ideal slow spin. I think I might try to fab something up here, thanks for the great idea Skysthalimit.

A friend of mine, and a member of this site, had actually proposed the same, Christmas tree stand idea to me. He even has the parts to make it. I would love to see someone here make it. Its a great idea, and much cheaper than light movers.

freeked - yeah i have seen the omega garden (not in person). looks like a great idea and definitely one of the most efficient designs out. but the $3k price tag and the few reports around about leaks are what steer me away from it.

ackuric - if you ever decide to build one, please post up a journal. i certainly plan to in the future but right now only have a 2'x1' cabinet space to grow with.

Thanks for the comments guys. If there are any more suggestions out, I'd love to hear them as I'd like this design to be perfect by the time it's built.

Also, google "twirl n trim" to see the xmas tree spinner i'm talking about for $60 (sorry still can't post links)
