sun system super sun II or magnum xxxl????

I just got my dr 120 (4x4) darkroom and was wondering which reflector would be better. I was running a 1000 watt with a Daystar AC and I didn't like it.

I'm leaning towards the magnum but just wanted a little input before i purchase.

Magnum's are like $50 more, but worth it. I've heard it said that it still doesn't distribute light as evenly as SS II, but what does? Very shallow hoods, though which should help with height restrictions. Stands to reason you can get the glass alot closer to the plants than the SS II as well, what with the 4x lens surface area.

Id have to say I recommend the SuperSun2 I have 2 of them and love them, Also I read a thread where 30 something pages of testing was done with light meters , I wish I could remember the posters name...., None of the less the results were in favor of the SuperSun2 in all categories

Id have to say I recommend the SuperSun2 I have 2 of them and love them, Also I read a thread where 30 something pages of testing was done with light meters , I wish I could remember the posters name...., None of the less the results were in favor of the SuperSun2 in all categories

bought 6 Magnum xxxl 6" for my room. Spend the extra money and go with the magnums. The light distribution and interior insulation is worth the extra money. Norcal may HEAR the other hood is OK but I am telling you there is no comparison via experience.

yeah dude i only heard about em....or wait

i've got 4 of them...but yeea ur probably right,,,, i guess i kinda heard a rumor about them being good but buying 4 of them yea i guesss i dnt have much experience with the supersun2

u probably have to have 5 of them before u can be considered a super sun 2 expert thats the magic number when u become a ss2 expert before that u relly can't say much about them

Have you used a magnum? It's tough to say which one's better having only used one.

I have an SS2 and a magnum 6, the magnum is in my flower tent, the ss2 is in my veg area. I like the light spread better from the magnum in my flower area because it doesn't give me shadowing issues. It is replacing a cooltube, and I haven't put the SS2 in the flower area, so it's possible that it would be equally (or more) effective, but I don't really want to switch them right now.

I didn't actually see a magnum test in there, after reading through the whole thread. I agree that the SS2 tested better than the others in the test, but it's not really fair to say it outtested when pico didn't test the other.
