Sulphur Smelling Bud

Hey guys. Been a while since I posted here and look forward to hearing your thoughts :tiphat: So I'm wondering if anyone's had sulphur smelling weed before? A friend just finished curing a harvest of supposed afghan variety and the smell went from skunk before the trim to now something like a swamp with sulphur in it. The funny thing is there weren't any nutes used in the grow aside from bat guano in soil.. so I'm sure that isn't the cause. And the water used throughout was all filtered reverse osmosis. So what do you guys think? This a common trait with afghanis?

I have read that Shiva Shanti from Sensi Seeds is a hybrid of another Sensi strain
called Garlic Bud. It was most likely called that because it smelled like garlic.

Garlic Bud was given/sold to Nevil By Jim Ortega, it was not made By Sensi Seeds or Nevil

Black Domina also has some Garlic Bud in it according to Nevil.

The Maple Leaf came from a guy known to me as Jim Ortega. We traded seeds for a while. Not only did he supply me with Maple Leaf, but also Garlic Bud and Kush 4. The cannabis smoking world owes him a lot.

The Maple Leaf line provided me with a plant that I labeled Afghan T. This plant is the mother of Super/Ultra Skunk and also crossed well with HzC.

Kush 4, I crossed with NL2(which had the same Kush smell) and this Kush Hybrid is the foundation of todays Kush lines.

Garlic bud has also made it's presence felt and is part of todays super yielders.

Let me say one more thing about ML AfgT. This plant had exactly the same smell as Sams best SK1 but more so. It is the true Skunk archetype. I do not believe for one N.Y. minute that Afghani#1 is behind the SK1, which IMO gives credence to the Mendecino Joe story about SK1.

The world owes you a big Thank You Jim!
Let me be the first to say that I appreciate the work that you have done.

I'd love to get a hold of some garlic bud. Never seen or known anyone with it though. I know people think of rotten eggs when they hear sulphur but what I'm smelling makes me think more of a swamp.. stagnant water, rotting vegetation, garbage etc.

The pure line was sold By Nevil's The Seed Bank not By Sensi Seeds (...i think):)

Good enough for you? :spank:

Garlic Bud is a classic indica strain from the 90's, bred by The Seed Bank (now known as Sensi Seeds) using Afghani genetics.
Its name is only loosely tied to Garlic Bud's aroma, which smells a lot more like tangy musk and spice than anything you'd throw
in your stir fry. This pungent-smelling indica expresses a duality of effects: heavy body effects that crush insomnia and pain
coupled with an invigorating cerebral buzz. A 7 or 8 week flowering time is all Garlic Bud needs to reach full maturation,
finishing with sizeable yields.

My stardawg ix2 keeper smelled of beach sound and skunk cabage..
not sure if people know outside coastlines there is a foam that gathers on the beach on humid stagnant mornings and dusk depending on beach and alge blooms if around ponds ...that reeks of swamp water garlic and wet skunk or wet dog...putrid smell but very important one imvho..
good nose gerardbutler79...

that's usually how curing goes for me.. you get the stinky fresh bud, after a week in a jar the botanical matter decomposes slightly and it smells like a swamp or a compost pile... usually that clears up after a week or two and the true smell comes through.
