Sulfer Def?

Hi Everyone,

Two weeks ago I started to get a nitrogen toxicity in my plants so I pulled the soil and mixed it with more coco coir. The new leaves started to look good and the plant was looking healthy. The last week I started to notice the new leaves and the ones at the top were starting to show a lighter green around the outside edge of the leaves. I believed it to be a sulfer def so I hit it with 200ppms of epsom salts. A few days later I notice no difference and it probably is getting worse.

I have attached some photos but I cannot seem to get the right photo to show the problem although the you can see it in the bottom right corner on a leaf in two photos.

How long would it take to show a turn around if I was getting to the problem with the epsom salt solution?

After doing more research I am now going to say that I have a zinc deficiency instead of sulfur.

Apparently it can occur when not using tap water. I have been using rain water. In case people are curious it has 0 ppm, I checked.

I just fed with tap water Galvanized nails in the soil are supposed to work.

Can anyone confirm my thoughts?

It is a good way to wind up needing a tetanus shot. Putting nails in soil is always a bad idea.

A bottled micro nutrient is a better idea.

I don't see anything wrong with the plant. New growth is always a lighter green.

I would just make sure my pH was spot on and feed with a well rounded nutrient.
