Do they even make a 150 or 250 dimmable ballast ?? I think 600 is the lowest with dimmable features .. You might look into that.. Also your 280 cfm fan does not dim. You would need to get a optional speed controller..

As far as strains go try some of Nirvana's gear to gain the experience you will need. You can worry about the more expensive strains later..

Nutrients? Might try Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect Sensi Grow and Bloom Part A+B so you don't have to worry about ph...start them at about 250 ppm over the ppm of your water - yes you need a ppm pen to test it - on Ebay or at your local grow or water store...the Advanced costs but works...you don't need the other stuff to start with ...Advanced might have a sample pack for cheap to try them $7 on Ebay today for 4 ounces...plenty for your first dozen grows... search Ebay for the brand name , sort for lowest price shipped, you can get enough for one run for $10 or less...ask before you use them ...soil or hydro? Hydro can go to 800 ppm plus water ppm....there's a million opinions on this stuff so don't get sidetracked with the fray...some people hate AN...I am not selling AN, but am just pointing you in a simple direction. Later you can try them all if you want... Some nutes brands - like General Hydroponics need to be mixed up and my friends ended up dumping them put of the bottle and using a paint mixer to blend them as they settle. It was a mess and got everywhere...but it worked...so AN can just be shaken up before you use them - every time. You need some plastic pipettes to suck the nutes out of the bottle or maybe an eyedropper but they are not long enough usually. If you are using reverse osmosis water, you will need some cal mag and add a little to each gallon of water ...like 10 ml or so...the light bulb has to match the ballast..150 HPS needs a 150 watt HPS light..an HPS ballast cannot run a MH lamp unless it is switchable. The dimmable type is nice to lower the watts during veg but not needed for your grow...a good mechanical timer is necessary unless you are gonna turn the light on and off for 12 weeks twice a day...read some threads here...what is not on this board you will have to learn from your own mistakes but it is much cheaper to read and research here...saves many screw ups...remember - many fires are started and houses burned down because of improperly set up grows. So safety is foremost! Make sure you check your tent for hot spots from the lights and stuff...if you have a sealed hood for the lights, the cooling air comes from the outside of the tent and exits to the outside to help keep the tent cooler.Any air coming out of the inside of the tent must be filtered after the smell gets enough to need filtering. There's a ton more...enjoy...

I was wondering the same but apparantly they do as well as 400's

you will need a 250 bulb though as mentioned
as well as nirvana, paridise is pretty decent for a noob as well

ballasts are made for their specific bulb, so they work better and safer when they are paired right. There's no reason to have a 250w bulb fired @ 60%. I'm sure you'll get more penetration, lumens and bulb life by using them as they were designed to work.

150 bulb only in that ballast .I would'nt even consider the 250 chances are you'll fry the ballast,possibly worse.
Everthing EG just said is spot on

I did do a quick search nothing popped up for 250 dimmable(used a different search word got a lumatek).. What kind of fan are you using? I have to use speed controller looks like this.. I did a search for dimmable in line fan as well nothing pooped up..

ACSC-250x250.jpg

You cant put a 250w bulb into a 150w ballast it has to be the other way. I use my 600hps with the ballast set to 400. I put a 400mh bulb in it to veg with.....

I agree with EG you have such a small ballast I dont see a need to dim it for any reason. That's why I did not think they made them so small with dimmable features. I dont see the benefit.

* Fläktens in och ut sug 125mm
* Fläktens max kapacitet: 280m3/h
* Fläktens ljud nivå på max effekt: 36dBA
* Fläkten levereras med monterings fäste
* Fläkten levereras med monterad temperatur sensor och 4m kabel till sensorn.
* Fläkten har 1års garanti!
* Fläkten levereras med monterad stick kontakt på 1,5m redo att koppla in till strömmen.

Alla sladdar är färdig monterade så att du som kund bara kan sticka in kontakten i dit el utag och börja använda fläkten!

I found a themostatically controlled can fan, it adjusted its speed based off the temperature sensor. Is that what you mean?

Your talking about a inline fan with a built in speed controller?

Ok so here it is in English. And as I suspected it is a thermostatically controlled fan.

Fan TT125 with built-in digital fan controller + 4m sensor

The TT125 fan has a built-in digital fan controller and external temperature sensor with 4m cable.
You can set the temperature on the fan you want in utrymet sensor is in. There after, the fan revolution is regulated in order to constantly maintain the same pemperatur.

You can also set which minimum laps you want the fan to be on at all times to replace air in the growing area no matter the temperature. It prevents mold and other problems.

The fan increases thus their laps when it's warmer in there odlinsutrymme, while the lamp is on. Then when the light goes out or something else lowers the temperature in the space reduces the number of revolutions the fan to keep the same temperature as before.

Thanks to not let your plants strässas because of uneven temperature, increase their growth and harvest.

* Fan in and out suction 125mm
* The fan max capacity: 280m3 / h
* The fan noise level at max output: 36dBA
* The fan is supplied with mounting brackets
* The fan is supplied with mounted temperature sensor and 4m cable to the sensor.
* The fan has 1 year warranty!
* The fan is supplied with a fitted mains plug of 1.5 m ready to connect to the stream.

All cables are assembled so that the customer can just insert the plug in which electricity eliminator and start using the fan!
