Suck or blow? Can50 Carbon Filter

I want to blow my exhaust through the carbon filter, but it looks like they are designed to be sucked through as the prefilter is on the outside.

I'm short of space, 4x4x4 grow box and the can50 is too big to be inside without modifying the top of my box.

So can I blow through it, the principal is the same no? I would have to prefilter my intake but that is more doable.

I'm running a 6" vortex, so both the fan and filter are much larger than needed but I've got 2-400W HPS in the box and plans to HDSOG so the smell will add up.

Better more than less, as I have learned when it comes to ventilation

It will work just fine.
Like you said, just pre-filter.

Your setup sounds like a good one. I use a DR80 tent and use a 4" Vortex. I pull heat from the reflector, duct to fan, then run ducting from the fan pushing air through the carbon filter. It works very well. If you want to keep control of dust, just put the prefilter inside the filter and you'll be fine.

The white liner around the filter can be removed and stuffed into the filter.

CAN recommends PUSHING through the filter but that is simply the most "efficient" way to do it.
