Substitute plant for grow practice run at mama's

Hi guys I was just wondering if there was a legal plant out there that i could grow in my new DIY LP aero set up. I would like to have something that i can try to make bigger "buds" with. The most important things I'm interested in is i can find it locally, it will grow in my set up, and isn't gonna cost me more than 50$ for 20 seeds.

Any suggestions appreciated.

There are several peeps on here who grow peppers in their setup. I would personally go for tomatoes.

tomatoes, but if you like hot peppers, go for them.

Peppers my friend, tomatoes has to be pollinated unless you know how to do that, if not there are alot of good articles on how to do it.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll go with hot peppers just because I'm a ketchup man and don't have much use for a bunch of tomatoes.
Very helpful I thought tomatoes were just a "code word" that growers used not a practice plant (I feel dumb)

I think tomatoes is often used as code so don't feel dumb, people just also grow them for real.
