Yeah i think they will be really good. well actually they will have to be, because i cant find any other submersible pumps on the market. I cant afford any noise.

how many watts does it use? someone should know how to figure how much heat it dumps.

What will the room temps be?

looks promising.

From what I've seen the main problem with those things is they add heat to the reservoir. So unless you've got very good cooling, or something to keep the res cool, it might be a problem.

Hi J.Magical, I bought the smallest one from Growell a few weeks back, I'm hand feeding in Coco coir but I use it for an hour in my nutes before feeding. no probs so far.

Room temps are around 25 degrees centigrade (or 75 farenheit), as far as i know they run off little power.

Cheers

Can you get the room to 70 and keep it there? With some Hydroguard you should be ok. I have run powerheads and they work great, better than air stones IMO.

The powerheads add heat. I ran a few different sizes and they would raise my DWC from 3-5. I was running 10 gallon rubbermaid tubs with about 6 gallons of water/nutes.

The lines in the top of the rubbermaids is a chilled water loop. The plants like to be about 75F, the roots like to be about 70, add the powerhead adds 3-5F. So, I needed to chill.

Now I have gone back to airstones. Just better ones and a better pump. It adds maybe 1F to temps so, no chiller.

Then again the closet is 75F at lights on and about 67 at lights off.

It should work fine but watch those temps if it gets too warm you WILL get root rot.

You might know this but probably 90% of the time a hydro grower has a problem it's root temp related. Everything else can be perfect but high root temps will still lead to rot.

What are your rez temps now?

I would think that submersible pump would be the most quiet option while making the most air. More than the walmart aquarium pumps and stones anyway. Guess you will just have to run it and test the temps. Good luck with it keep us posted. CF

Any kind of motor running in the water will make heat whether it's a powerhead or an air pump.
