Sub panels

I have a 200 amp breaker box in my garage that is about 15 years old. In my house I have a buss fuse box and 2 small breaker boxes that are full. Do I run wire from the garage breaker box to my basement and put in another sub panel? It will be about 75' from the box to a suitable spot in the basement. I have seen nice builds with lots of photos on this site but cant seem to find them anymore. So if you have the link saved or know what im talking about let me know. I need safety advice on wire size and running wire outside (25') where the temps can get below freezing to 100+.

If the 200 amp box in your garage has vacant breakers (or slots for them), then run it from there. Over 75' and you will have to up the wire size for the amperage, how many amps were you wanting to run? Take a look at dxsoundco site, it is actually not TOO much more than doing it yourself, depends on your needs, may give you some ideas as well. Let us know what kind of main breaker panel you have and how many amps you want. Temps won't be THAT much of a concern if you do it correctly.

The panel in my garage has a lot of vacant slots. I thought maybe I could run another 100amp breaker to my house on a separate sub panel. There is already another 100amp breaker to the house in it. And also 35 amps wired to the garage. So that probably wont work... I would like to upgrade a few rooms in my house. probably 8-12 120v outlets and a 240v.

It sounds like you have a lot of boxes around your house. What I would do is run a new wire from your MAIN box, the wire you choose needs to support your grow room and the length of 75' AND be certified for outdoor use, so you are going to be using some heavy and expensive gauge wire IE $2.50+ per ft. I suggest doing this because there is no telling what those other boxes in your house are running already or the wire size, best to have new wire dedicated to your grow.
