Styrofoam reflector any good?

Hello, I want to use the top of a styrofoam cooler as a reflector, it seems it would be ok since it's white. I'm using CFLs so I think the risk of fire is not very high. Can someone help me? Thank you.

You could do worse, but you could do better. The issue I see is the lid wont be shaped properly and the light wont reflect where it should

I could just cut out one of the sides of the box instead and use that. Nice and flat, or did you mean the texture of the styrofoam? Can you recommend a better solution for a DIY reflector?

If you had to, you could even use cardboard wrapped with foil.
