Stupid question about venting a tent

So I'm going to be running a 600w air cooled hood in a 3x3 tent and apparently I must be an idiot because people are running a single fan to both cool the light and circulate the grow area/push through the carbon filter. Can someone explain to me the ducting to accomplish this? Assuming I would need ~450cfm fan with an VSC and carbon filter recommendations are welcome (unless a DIY is easy for someone pretty useless with tools and significantly cheaper.)

Seen this discussed, just too stupid to understand exactly how it works. Pictures welcome.
Thanks for entertaining me .

I have my fan pulling air through a 6" charcoal filter through the cooled hood then out of the tent through the fan.
This configuration provides three things:
1. Fresh cool air
2. It cools the lamp
3. It cleans/scrubs the exhaust air

You will need at least one (8"+) more fan in the tent to circulate the air around the plants.

I like the idea of not pulling hot air through the fan as to lengthen the life of the fan if it's too hot. Definitely something to consider.

I check the temp of the air coming out of my fan with an infrared thermometer. It's never over 85* so I think my fan is ok at that temp.

I prefer my fan and filter outside the tent leaving more room for herb.

I often use one 8" to cool 2 tents

Thats how I do it too. The only thing I dont like about this way is if you use the glass in an aircooled reflector, dust gets on the glass alot and you have to clean it more often. I'm thinking about getting one of those dust shrooms for the intake before the hood.

^^ Right....

I Guess I always assumed that negative pressure, especially in a "closed" environment would be a bit better than pushing air through the filter at the end of the line.

At this point I'm thinking 6" Filter (Phat probably) ->Hood->fan->exhaust
My home temps are pretty stable ~68" and have forced air a/c and heat. My place is only about 575sf, so it can cool or heat the whole place up pretty quickly, I figure a ~450cfm fan will keep the heat manageable around ~80-83, but we will see once I actually get it all together.

Thanks for indulging me.

i like... scrubber > fan > lamp > ducting > this way the fan isn't constantly sucking hot air.

This was the other option, It probably depends on what kind of space I have in the tent, as preferably I can get the filter and fan in there to avoid having it look like Frankenstein, but i assume this is preferable if it's possible without too much crazy back and forth ducting?
