Hi, i know it may sound stupid, but im a first timer and am not certain, so here it goes:

When i manicure my harvest, all my trim and leaves will go to hash making. My question is, do i need to dry it before moving to hash making? If i have to dry it before the hash making procedure, is it possible to dry in a bag or something so i dont lose much trichs?

hope i can have explained well, cause im real confused in this little part :)

thx.

depends, if your planning on making dry screen, then you need to dry the trim first. If your going to make waterhash with some sort of bag system (ie. bubblebags, Xxxtractor bags, etc) then it will come out nicer if you freeze the trim fresh. Now if your going to dry it for dry sifting, then I would dry it on top of screens over a smooth clean flat surface so you can collect the trics that fall off during drying.

Bubblehash or dry sift?

Bubblehash or dry sift?

Your first post eh? Welcome to the unreal world....

There are two sides to this question. First, by freezing them wet, right off the plant, and making bubble with that, should give you the highest quality, but a fairly low yield. This is due, in part, to a visible (microscope) reduction in stalks and hairs.

When you dry them first, and then freeze them for bubble, the quality will be a bit lower, but the yield will be greater. It's a trade off, and only you can decide which you prefer. For me, I make it both ways, depending on what I need.

As to drying it in a bag, don't worry about it. First, and very important, is that in a bag you stand a good chance of getting mold, and then all you have is garbage. If you choose to dry it, spread it out to reduce any chance of mold, and let it dry - or use any of the good techniques you'll find here on IC. I like a window screen spaced above a piece of glass to put them on to dry. Great airflow.

Don't worry about trichs getting lost in the bag. Sure, you'll lose a few, but when they fall off into the bag, they will stick to it, forever lost.

If you're going for dry sift, I've only made about 35 runs (or so), and I'm not through with the microscope and true research.

I hope this has helped some. There's a lot of good help and good information here. Sift it carefully, and you'll do fine.
