Stuff My CFL's ??

someone told me i should stuff my CFL's with foil. Has anyone else heard of this?

To eliminate the "dead" space in the middle of the spiral and reflect light back outwards, I think. dunno if I'd want to put a bunch of foil directly on the glass tube part though, unless for some reason it acts as a heat sink...

this was what he was trying to explain. but not very clearly.

i think it could cause more heat.

putting foil in the spaces in a cfl would at best block about half the light. not a good thing.

I have heard of putting foil tape on one side of a floro tube to act as a kind of reflector, but foil inside a cfl wouldnt do anything usefull. IMO.
