Stud. Indica or Sativa?

I'm not sure if I'm in the correct forum, but I'm planning on trying to cross a few of my plants in the future and was wondering is it important that any male pollen I collect should be from an indica dom. or a sativa and if so, what would be the difference if I say crossed a Aurora Indica fem to a Malawi Gold male or vice-versa?.
Any meaningful input would be appreciated.
