I have read a lot of comments on here about the AF and Ruderalis/X strains. It suprized me at how many people still don't really have a clue about the possibilities of growing them. So I dicided that I would go ahead and share this grow with people here so they can see for themselves.

Now I am a newb by comparison to many on here. This is something like my 7th or 8th grow, and my first for this particular strain.

First my setup:
My starter room is 8'X5' w/ 4 T5 HO grow tubes.
My finishing room is 8'X10" w/ a 1000w MH and 1 400w HPS.
I just finished remodeling my room a little and changed my exhaust fan's discharge. Before it vented out the attic but my neighbor complained about the odor. So I built a new stand and discharge into the crawl space beneath the house. I still have to paint everything but I can do that after harvest, before I leave.

I germinated and planted these on Oct. 8 and left them in the starter room until they all showed plenty of hairs. Obviously I have removed the males, 1 really healthy male I have topped and set under a 25 watt fluorescent because I want to seed a couple of my girls and restock my seed supply. I will probably harvest the pollen and use a brush on the selected girls later.

A couple of plants are still being bashful and haven't sexed yet but I will keep a close eye on them until they do. I usually only flower 5 plants at once and keep 15 on a 3 week cycle, (5 flowering, 5 new starts and 5 juveniles). But I am planning on a couple of trips this winter and want to finish them all and have a good enough supply to last until I get home and can start the next batch.

Last night I was cleaning my rooms and noticed a few spots on a couple of plants. Closer inspection showed that I had caught spider mites before they could trash my crop. Not many but even 1 of those lil bastards is too many. So anyway I made up a batch of tea and sprayed them all down. Tomorrow I will give em all a good spray down with dilutes apple juice.

So here are the girls at 20 days of age and day 1 in the flower room.

This will probably be my last grow in soil. After this I will revamp my rooms and probably use this system. I am undecided but looking at options to help clean up my operation.

I might have missed it, but what strain is it?

Do you have a switchable ballast to run 1000w hps?

Good luck though, I know I for one would kill to have a room that size at my disposal :)

Ooops the plants are a hybrid cross between an auto-flowering Ruderalis/Chronic (it's skunk x, northern lights, and ak47 crossed w/Ruderalis)

I am going to use a 1000w MH and a 400w HPS. My 1000w ballast isn't switchable so for now I am stuck with the 400w hps. I did order a 1000w ballast and bulb but they haven't arrived yet. I will probably switch to it when I have it.

I have only done 15 plants in this room once before and it gets pretty small with 15 adult plants in there.

Is the ruderalis x you have more like a lowryder type cross, or do they auto later and get big super auto style?

I go 16 AFs in 1 gallon pots in a 2.5 x 2.5 space , so i just wondered :)

Joint Doctor is working on a Chronic Ryder, is that where you got them?

i grew the chronic from serious before, i dont mean to negative but it was some very high yeilding totally lousy smoke, i would imagine the ruderalis mixed with it would make it even worse, again autos are great if u get the right ones but why would u use chronic?

Actually. I did question it myself but the guy who first began this cross explained it that he used the chronic strain mainly to increase the yield.

Anyway I will be updating with pictures tonight. But I have a little problem that I need to identify before I get side-tracked.

The fan leaves are collapsing on themselves and several of them. This is probably something simple but I want to identify it now just in case.
