this is my Connoisseur Genetics grow thread for their Strawberry and Cream strain.

-popped on 10/28 in shot glass of tap water placed in cupboard above fridge
-10/30 tap roots showing, planted in solo cups with Black gold soil
-T8 2x4' 6500k flouro's on 18/6 in cloner/mom tent (75* and 60%r/h) added humidifier to tent
-4 of 5 sprouted on 11/4

not too much else to tell at this point. kinda boring. at least I have my flower room to drool over in the mean time and my other clones growing.

thanks for the help!

ive got all the wood in the garage waiting for me to cut it to size ahead of time (winter is creeping up), then build just before my next flip when I move the flower plants to 3 days darkness. my only time to build the room. total cost for the wood for an 8x12x7 build including 5lb of screws, new saw blade was 140.00 :) + 10x100' panda film 80.00, and 5 cans of aerosol adhesive 35.00. still cheaper than any of my 3 tents

looks like #5 is a dud. I moved a bit of soil to see whats going on. seems like she stalled out before ever breaking the soil. ill give her a couple more days, then in the bin she goes.

I pulled away some more of the soil covering the bean yesterday evening. I see she did sprout, but got stuck under the soil (imo). im using black gold soil instead of my normal light warrior. I wish I bought the light warrior. not digging the black gold at all. hold way tooooo much moisture compared to the LW. anyways, pulled back some soil, let the light get to the green growth, and hope she will spring up out of the cup and towards the light. go to the light little one, its safe. lol

the other 4 are doing nicely for a newly sprouted plant.

well I culled the #5 seedling. she just couldn't cut the mustard and grow any more. 3 days stalled, so in the bin she went. the other 4 are doing good for being seedlings. my environmental conditions may be stunkting the growth of the seedlings. current tent is 72* and 40% r/h on the high side (winter here). ive since put the seedlings under my humidome and put a heat mat between 2 bath towels as to not heat the seedlings up too much. current temps is just about 80* and r/h is about 75%-80%. I slid the dome over to allow for a bit more heat and rh to escape and to allow some fresh air in. the leaves were drooping a bit after a few hrs of making their new home.

its been 3 years since ive grown anything from seed. I like clones a lot better. much easier, and no finding that elusive perfect phenol. lol

also, I do NOT like that black gold seedling starter soil. I prefer and miss the FFLW I used in the past. the BG holds WAY WAY too much water. so I gave the rest of my BG soil to my old lady for her indoor plants, and grabbed another bag of FFLW.

heres a pic before I slid the top over for more air flow. ill get another one when the lights are back on of the growth. imo, only 3" or so, but has nice leaf formation.

I also have a couple of S&C seedlings just starting out among some other CSG gear (Rainbow Jones, Sour Hazy Jones, Cheesedog, Cheese n Chaze). Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

12/14 update on the 4 strawberry n cream.

so far they are looking nicely. they seem to love the 600w mh better than the 4x 2'x4' 6500 t8 lights they were under.

Looking good dude! I have two going that are a bit farther behind from yours that will be going into coco tonight, hoping to get them on track soon. Keep us updated!

Sorry if I missed it, but is this the feminized S&C or are there regulars available as well?

I have the fem version. im hoping I can time these SC's with my next veg cycle. 3 weeks until I pull clones, 11 days in the cloner, 3 weeks in solo cups, then 4 weeks under 600mh at 75% power. I run into height issues if I veg under 100%. and my clone time is the latest I pull clones (1.5 weeks from flip). so these SC's need to get to growing. lol

I also feed at 10%, as the black gold soil (imo) is just garbage and useless 1x a week or 1x every other week depending on water uptake).

they look so small in the room full of gorilla glues.

I feel ya man...lol

Since you said you're a Light Warrior fan and that's what I currently have mine in and am hours away from transplanting just because of how bad they look, what and when do you feed them in that particular mix?

my closest grow store didn't sell light warrior, only black gold. so I went with a medium I knew nothing about and regretted it after a week or using it. it holds too much water and has nothing in it for nutes (not that seedlings need much, but a little is better than none at all). I had only repotted 1 plant into the LW (black square pot), as the seedlings were just too frail a few weeks ago and I thought I killed that one. now I just hit them with a 10% nute solution vs up-potting at this point. ill give them 2-3 more weeks, then they will go into their final 3.7gal homes with FFOF soil.

as soon as I hit the girls with that 10% solution, then sprung to life and started growing well, vs just watering the BG soil which they looked stunted and not interested in growing.

LW is my normal seedling medium, always used it in the past and no issues. no nutes either, the LW has just enough to keep them growing, and not enough to fry the little girls.

I gotcha man, I may just need to switch to phed tap water and see what happens, although the girls are showing signs of what I think might be N deficiency right now... Tuning in for the rest, best of luck! :tiphat:

mine did too, that's one reason I hit them with a 10% nute feeding. after that feed, then 1 water, they too off

Next time in a pinch try HP promix as a base mixed with FFOF at a ratio of 4 parts HP to 1 part FFOF if you cant find Light Warrior.

I don't use pro mix, there for I would have to go out and buy a big bale only to use minimally for the seedlings. I just went to my normal store and bought LW.

thanks for the info tho.

I dont buy the compressed bales. I use the 2.8cuft loose bags by Promix. I find the compressed stuff not as easy to work with and overall just a pain in the ass. Would be a waste of money to buy a bag($40) but at least if you cant find LW you wouldnt have to use something that would set your seedlings back. I use to use LW until i started testing PPM out of the bag. With the ratio mixed right for the HP/FFOF ends up equal PPM to the LW and works equally good. Do you use straight FFOF for final pots?

Plants are looking great now!
