Strange white bug unidentified

So I found this small white critter on my plant today. Looks like a grasshopper covered in cotton or a web to me. Sorry about photos best I could snap. Thanks for the help. Peace

Yeah I saw a lone one of those on herbs or vegetables. Definitely looks like a mealybug or some kind of scale.

Just one of them isn't much to be worried about but they can borg up like the worst of insects if you let them.

Its not a mealybug my friend, its a Asian wooly hackberry aphid, and they suck the sap out of the leaves. A single aphid here or there is not harmful to your plant and gardens, however, an aphid colony is destructive to new plant growth. They use their tiny mouthparts to pierce leaves and plants while sucking sap. If you've every felt a stickie substance under a tree before, its aphid honeydew. If you see one, just smash it between your fingers. 😎
