High Ho! High Ho; High Ho...and it's off to work we go!

Seriously, invite the inmates back to work, they'll never want to leave. :tumbleweed: jpt

^ Really! I would totally pimp out a prison and make it livable. Why haven't I thought about this before? I'm now officially in the market to buy a prison if they can be copped so cheaply. (No pun intended there).

What an awesome venue for concerts and festivals it would make, too.

Just smudge a little sage here and there, bring out a shaman to purge the spirits, it'll work itself out. Right?

Strange. I was just reading about prisoners finding a lot of herb on the side of the road.

Did you or somebody you know accidentally leave more than 600 pounds of marijuana on the side of a road? Because if you did, we have some bad news: Cops got it.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that a prison work crew cleaning up the side of a road near St. Joseph in northeast Missouri stumbled upon a substantial sativa stash.

"In all, there were 678 one-pound marijuana packages and three large sacks of loose weed," Mike Donaldson, commander of the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, tells the News-Press.

Donaldson says the street value is around a cool million dollars if sold by the ounce.
The marijuana bricks were in garbage bags hidden in a deep ravine. At first, the crew leader thought somebody in the area might be illegally dumping trash, so he opened up a bag to see if he could identify who was doing the dumping.

But not only did the prisoners find weed, but they found really good weed, says Donaldson.

"The Strike Force believes the marijuana was locally cultivated and harvested," Donaldson tells the News-Press. "It's definitely not ditch weed."

Despite the high quality of the herbs, the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force claims they burned it all.

So somebody in St. Joseph is in big trouble.

Meanwhile, in Colorado, the state collected $4,775,679 in marijuana-related sales taxes during the month of June, according to the Denver Business Journal. Not counting July's revenue, Colorado has raked in $25,307,067 in marijuana taxes since recreational sales became legal on January 1.

well, if Washington is nearly out of weed, why not sell it to the state for their empty dispensary shelves? I know, that makes too much sense. kind of like burning untaxed gasoline because the refinery did not have a permit, LOL!

what about all the prison shankings and anal rapings that happened inside?

To be fair, it was a women's correctional facility. Still plenty of misery, I'm sure.

Also, to be fair, the joint has saved a lot of people's lives. A very close friend did 7 years in Canon way back when. He was in a death spiral when they busted him, a la John Belushi. Totally out of his speedball addled mind. He was the first to admit it when he got out. It did take a couple of years inside before he got his head screwed on straight. Seven years was a lot more than he needed.

Gotta be a better way to deal with it.

Brush isn't exactly a metropolis, but, yeh, it'd be a helluva deal if your income didn't depend on location. People have done interesting things with old cold war missile installations, too-
