Strange (but healthy?) Roots

This is one of several young plants we have going at the moment. All look quite healthy, but this one has the most bizarre looking roots we've ever seen. Rather than the long spaghetti-like strands on all the rest and all those before, this one has roots best described as "fringed" or even "fish bones." The strain is Blue Apollo, and has been in 18/6 fluoro veg until a couple days ago when we put her into the flower room. Tho you can't tell from the pic taken under HPS, the roots are white and healthy looking other than being oddly shaped. The plant itself looks great and does not seem to have any problems. Any ideas what these odd looking roots are from??

We need more information; but like LA has stated; that water is clear looks like no nutrients have been added whatsoever......

Can you fill out these questions?

HYDROPONICS:

What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using?
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.)
What is the Water temperature?
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each if using multiple?
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using?
What is the pH of the "Tank"?
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?
When was your last watering?
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional)
What size bulb are you using?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor?
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When?
Are plant's infected with pest's

Are your roots slimy or brown? I can't tell because the HPS light is on and is making a fringe color on the roots.

What is the pH of the "Tank"?5.5
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment? yes
When was your last watering? bucket change when put into flower - 3 days ago
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional) same as above plus H2O2
What size bulb are you using? 2 400wHPS
What is the distance to the canopy? 18"
What is your RH Factor?
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 72-75 day 65-67 night
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? oscillating fan
Is your water HARD or SOFT? hard
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched no
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? last grow - no pest strips, neem. No pest strips still in room, neem not used currently
Are plant's infected with pest's no, last grow had spider mites, all is ok now

The top of all plants looks good - same on all plants. This is the only one whose roots are different. They are white, healthy, and growing, just weirdly! Plant has not shown sex yet. If it's a boy, then it goes anyway, but just curious if anyone has seen roots like this before? I'm not sure why the water looks clear in the pics.

Take a pic of the roots without the light on.... As long as the plant is growing normally and no issues are being shown; I would not worry about it unless the roots are brown and slimy then you got something to worry about......

HPS is better for flowering; has the orange spectrum which cannabis like for flowering; vegging they like blue spectrum better; you can mix in flowering but hps is best for flowering.

Dude, I do it ALL the time; so no worries we all make mistakes bro; do not be embarssed! Hell I messed up easy math a few weeks ago I said something like 4.5 ml = 1 1/2 teaspoons LOL

So no worries bro; we all make mistakes :)

Thanks, guys. I am glad no one is popping in with comments that something is drastically wrong!! The plant looks healthy, the roots are growing. The root structure is something we've never seen before and is unique to this plant. We have several other Blue Apollos going and none share this root characteristic. Being still relative novices to growing, we thought we'd better get a more educated opinion in case this was a prelude to something going wrong. I'll try and get back there with the camera in the next day or two and get a lights out picture.

grounds keeper willie here.....(same grow, dif person)
just want to make it clear that the weird roots have been like that since they started growing, the plant was grown from seed.
it's not a new development or anything- just a strange observation. Like she said, we only have done a few grows now, and just never saw roots shaped like this.

hey BirdDawg,

did you take clones of that plant?

i hope you did...

if so, you should run an experiment and see if all of the roots do that same thing...

also another question...

have the roots been like that on that plant all along?
